I have 2 key fobs I bought aftermarket and had programmed at my dealership when my original keyfobs started having issues with the lock/unlock/remote start buttons not working well. The aftermarket fobs worked great for a couple of years (or at least the fob I use regularly does). Just randomly on 12/01/2020 BOTH aftermarket fobs both stopped being able to turn the ignition in the truck. They both work great with lock/unlock/remote start/panic. I will remote start the truck, then go to put the fob in the ignition and nothing happens. Same problem with the other fob that I rarely used. The original key fobs will still turn over the ignition, but still have the same problem with the lock/unlock (expected as the PCB/buttons are worn). So now I have 2 key fobs I get to carry around so I can unlock the door with one and start the truck and drive with the other. The darn things are bulky and I'd like to NOT have to do that. I'm thinking it might be something that FCA did in a sneaky software update to disable the aftermarket fobs and force people to buy their $400 fobs instead. That's just the conspiracy theorist in me though. But it is the only thing that would make sense to me as well. I don't think it'd be an ignition module issue since it starts just fine with the old fobs. I've hated these fobs since the day I first had to use one. I would really like to go back to just a regular key.

I have tried swapping the boards between the aftermarket and OEM fobs and the aftermarket doesn't work regardless of which board is in it.

Anyone have any similar problems like this? (maybe in the same timeframe to help my conspiracy theory)
