We did get some snow...lol
Back in the old days , that was ballast for the winter, and I would buy a few salt bags and store them in the truck till I needed one. Now we run snow tires, and I have studs in the winter ones, don't really like them, but they work. I use to have a 1/2" / 4 ft. sq iron sheet I would bolt into the work truck.

You all forgot another important point about starting your trucks to warm up while you remove the snow on the windshield. If the wipers are on when you shut off the truck, they come on automatically when you start the truck. So, you need to look and make sure they are off before you start the truck. Mike from Rochester.
I have forgotten a number of times, but I switch them off immediately.

When this happens, and after the windshield has been cleared, the wipers are no longer in their normal parked position and rest up on the windshield when switched off. Amazing after a few reactivations of the wiper switch, they find their normal parked position again. Must be a feature of the system.

Regards,
Dusty, also from Rochester.

Really? This must have changed on the 5th gens then. Pretty sure that if I remote start, my wipers won't move even if they're turned on, until my butt is in the seat and I press the ignition.

My 2021, 2500 is the same way, no wipers on remote start.

Yes, that's the way it worked on my 2014 and now, my 2019. Wipers will not engage with remote start.

But as soon as you press 'Run,' they will start.

Dusty
