Sure, its kind of my own fault, I'm pretty cheap, I hate the "negotiating", I'm very picky, if I don't need it I don't want it, oh and have I mentioned I'm moving to Hawaii in 3 months.

So I honestly hate all the color options on the 14, except western brown, it looks pretty good in sunlight, what I really want is the copperhead pearl which is only on the 2013, I'd be willing to pay a couple thousand more for copperhead pearl, I've even thought about getting the truck I want in a different color and having it repainted, but it would be more than a couple thousand, it would be handsful of thousands. And almost as important to me is that I want a RamBox, I think they are awesome, and would be really great to have for days at the beach in Hawaii. And honestly almost every other option beyond that is completely negotiable, to a point, I'm not looking to spend laramie let alone laramie longhorn kinda money.

Even with the simple demands of Western Brown with RamBox and not costing $40,000, there isn't a single truck within 500 miles of me that fits that description, in fact I've gone on autotrader and searched the entire US and am not finding much. So the option would be to order it and have it shipped to Hawaii, at which point I'd prefer to just have the factory ship it to hawaii and only be charged for shipping once, heck factory destination fee for Hawaii is only $50 more. (I feel really bad for people in Michigan getting shafted for a $1000+ destination fee for a truck that went 20 miles.)

Well if I'm going to order I've decided I'd like a 1500 Big Horn 4x2 quad cab(I'm moving to hawaii and I don't offroad, I can't imagine a use for 4x4 unless I want to ride on the beach, I don't.) V6. Couple options Rambox, luxury group, anti-spin diff, and the 17" wheels (saves you $500, money that can be spent on getting the wheels I actually want.) and that's it, I just really don't feel any need for any of the other options, sure if i was sitting flush I'd take a sunroof, back up camera, remote start but I don't feel like I need them. If they had a model in stock that was what I want and had them I'd negotiate with them but if I'm going to order it, I'll pass.

So on to the problem, Ram doesn't lock in rebates on factory orders, (or at least the 5 dealerships I've talked to believe this) you effectively have no clue how much money you are spending, something I'm seriously not cool with. On top of that none of them are willing or for some reason able to have it shipped from the factory to Hawaii (the two hawaii dealerships (the only ones) have shown no interest in my money, I've talked to the internet manager at one and a GM at another, both said they'll contact me again in 3 months). Its frustrating, so frustrating that I test drove a silverado and F150 today (hated them both, super crappy color options as well).

More than anything I'm ranting, but if anyone has any helpful options for me to get what I want, I am all ears. At this point I think the answer is to wait til I get to hawaii and see if they have what I want at that time, which they won't for some reason Western Brown is about as popular as RamBoxes and by that I mean they aren't, no clue why RamBox is awesome. And either wait til next year and order then or wait til I leave Hawaii and try again.

Im sure its a PITA, but your location doesn't help. In order to get a great deal you have to be willing to A: have alternates or B: travel.

I drove 600 miles to get the truck I wanted for an outstanding price, unfortunately swimming doesn't seem an option, and Ram's don't do well under water.

you'll have to either wait it out, or settle with other color choices and options.

You might want to call some dealerships in California, and see if they will work with you to ship to a local dealer for delivery, and have the Dealer in the Lower 48 work you a deal!

Yeah, If I could find what I wanted I'd be willing to travel now and then ship it from here, but it would have to be a killer deal, shipping would run me a couple grand from here to hawaii.

I went through the same thing. I figured you're gonna spend big money get what you want. I settled for the color but found all the options I wanted. Good luck on your search.

yeah, there is a outdoorsman model at a dealer in South Carolina that is really close, only real issues with it, bucket seats, and price is a bit more than makes me comfortable due to extra options. If Chrysler/Ram would only allow you to lock in factory rebates like other companies.

You absolutely can lock in the current incentive when placing an order and if the incentive goes up while you are waiting for the truck to be delivered you get the higher incentive. As long it's prior to its' expiration. You won't get a lower incentive. What ever incentive you have on your contract will be the minimum.

My wife took delivery of a '14 Durango R/T at the end of December. We ordered it 8 weeks prior and locked into the then current incentive. The incentive that we had locked into expired Dec 2. The new incentive effective Dec 3 was the same. So no change there, BUT before taking delivery we did receive a $500. coupon direct from Chrysler and applied that towards the purchase, no problem.

I plan on ordering a 2500 CrewCab 6.4L Laramie this week to get the $3000. incentive that expires on Monday Feb 3. If the incentive goes down on the 4th I'm still getting the $3K. If they go up I will get that. I applied for a $500. coupon (by doing an on-line brochure request) and if I get that I will apply that to the purchase as well. It is also very easy to qualify for Affiliate Pricing which is invoice - 1%. Join Treadlightly.org for $100 (tax deductible) and you will get Affiliate Pricing.

Ok so awesomeness, I found a 13 copperhead pearl,
New 2013 Ram 1500 SLT For Sale in Fort Worth TX | Vin: 1C6RR7LT0DS635197 | Serving Dallas, Euless, Arlington

Its not the V6 I want, and I'd prefer the canyon brown interior but other than that... And I'm sure i'll love the V8 enough to scoff at the 3 mpg. How much room for negotiation is there on a late model? I'm going to try to do some research into how late models work, I know with some industries if a company keeps a late model or is unable to sell it they get a large discount from the manufacturer... anyone know much about it, might save me a couple hours on google.

I get invoice -1% and an additional $1000 rebate for being USAA member. All the dealers I've talked to though say they can't lock in rebates.

I'd get a quote from Koons Chrysler Dodge outside Washington DC. They have the best prices of anywhere I've seen and there are no gimmicks..

They came off approximately $5000 on my wife's 2014 Grand Cherokee which we special ordered. There were no rebates from Chrysler as they were just released when we purchased.

I was planning on ordering a heavily optioned 2014 granite crystal ram CC 4x4.. Just so happened Koons had a almost exact match after I built it on the Ram website. No haggle price was $11,000 off MSRP. They were also able to get me a extended warranty cheaper than Chrysler warranty's.com

If I didn't buy from Koons I'd get a price from them and try to get my local dealer to at least match it..

Cool, I'll look them up, sounds like the kind of people I want to deal with. Got a specific sales guy you deal with/like?

Steve Bristow is my sales rep.- great guy to work with. You can go to their website and look at similar optioned trucks to get a idea of the amount they are going to come off.

Just put the deposit on the granite crystal laramie listed on the website! Can't wait to pick it up and make the road trip back home on the 12th!

Wasn't really wanting the side steps or sunroof, but dang it was a close match. Crazy odds that the same dealer just happened to have a 99% match for the vehicle I was wanting order..
