Barricade have a new bumper that cost $600, and has an optional skid plate and hoop ($99 for each option if you want them) and you can reuse the factory tow hooks. Hodge mentioned it the other day but I thought he was referring to the bulky ones they had until I checked their website a couple of days ago.

It seems fairly new as there is only one picture of it in the AmericanTrucks website, it doesn't show how the thing looks like mounted in the truck, but it seems slimmer, I was chatting with them to gather more details it weigths 75lbs, the skid is 5 lbs, no need for a front valance as it's basically a full on bumper, you can use your tow hooks, and it's plug and play.

Ive been tempted to buy it but i like to see a pic of how it looks mounted, no instructions either apparently so I can't even look in there to have an idea , they said they have a video on how to remove the factory bumper which I have seen and that installing the new one is super simple. I guess it'll be the same thing as installing the bulky version.

Can't decide where I wanna spend money next!

I also want new brakes...Rear arms and track bar...and eventually an up-size in tires (and new wheels to go along with them). The bumper is sweet, but it doesn't have recovery points (although I can grind my OEM hooks to fit probably), no licence plate mount (I guess I can just bolt it on anywhere) and I have to spend even more $$$ on lights!

I have the same problem as Hodge mentioned in his build thread...the more I mod, the more I will probably thrash it off road! This is my DD and the truck I will rely on for family road trips etc for years and years. Baja bumper on the ol' reliable vehicle? Seems like it could go horribly wrong. Hahaha!

In the end, $1000 is $1000. It's both a lot of money...and a great price for a cool bumper. What to do....
For the interim I'm just doing silly aesthetic stuff like led bulbs in a few spots and stuff. I'm pretty set on the barricade bumper, hell it actually uses more bolts than the A.D.D stealth to mount, not that I'm hitting or pulling on it but it seems like a dam good value. But as mentioned, it a still 6-800 with add ons and that's still a decent *** of cash.

I think I'll keep picking away and things like the sway bar end links and stuff, got my welder fixed so it's tempting to get some flat stock and go to town, but man, I'm just not that motivated lol.

Got the rig back from Linex just before closing time today and started the long process of bolting all the bits and pieces back together, getting everything on the truck, aligning and adjusting 100x and then going back over every bolt with loctite.

Front flares are on, rears i still need to remove the old tape which is a nightmare. Bumper/skids are all on now as well. My phone died during the process so heres the dump of the day showing the line-x and also a couple shots of the mounting brackets for the bumper and also the skidplate frame.

More pics tomorrow.

Couple quick ones i snapped this morning. As soon as i get some decent weather at work ill hack those liners down.

Also, on the drive to work that bumper HOWLS on the highway. I think filling the massive gaping hole with my light bars will help and i also think that those exposed fender liners have something to do with that, so itll be better when theyre trimmed too.

I notice the extra weight on the front and it made my steering feel a bit 'tighter' but neither one of these things are annoying, just worth noting. The front end of my truck is probably just what the ecodiesel guys feel with stock gear haha

I'm pretty sure that's an express with the rebel grille conversion. They make one now that looks identical and I believe that's it. I really like this bumper, as in I'm gonna order it, just a matter of when I get a bit of extra $. I'll def do the hoop and skid as well so still about 800, but damn does it look slick
