I have a 2014 ram 1500 with the 5.7.
I put methods and Toyo 35” M/T’s I’m looking to get suspension as I want better ride quality (I.e firmer on road less body roll, but still able to cushion well off road. I guess I’m looking for more of a digressive system)

I was looking into the Bilstein 6112’s paired with the 5100’s in the rear but shock surplus says they won’t revive them from Bilstein until November.
They said they have Icon stage 1 and Fox 2.0 ready to ship if I would like to consider that route. Just curious if anyone has experience with any of these and could give me some more input.

Icon has a terrible reputation, I would stay far away from that junk. I’ve never personally had fox 2.0 but have heard from several people that they’re pretty soft. Buy the 6112s from a different source

Got it, thanks for the information. Everywhere I’m checking shows them on back order. I’ll probably end up waiting for the 6112’s.

A lot will depend on what you do “off road” with your truck. For many of us that consider off road a dirt logging road with some washed out ruts (cue eye roll from serious off roaders) the Bilstein 5100’s are more than adequate. Much lower cost than fancier setups while allowing for a 2-2.5 inch front end level without having to replace UCAs. The 5100’s are not a heavy duty solution but do offer stiffer on pavement control with less body roll.

I second that!

I have 5100’s on all 4 corners of my 04 ram 2500 that has a 6” lift on 35’s. Its my farm truck and off road truck. The shocks are very comfy when off roading in the mountains and feel great on the highway when towing.

I considered Fox 2.0’s but was told they would need to be re-valved a lot sooner than the 5100’s would need to be replaced.

I believe the 6112’s are valves the same as the 5100 but they just have the external reservoir so they don’t build up as much heat…right? If that’s the case unless you Baja your truck the extra reservoir won’t really make a difference for you, it will just look cool and lighten your wallet a bit more ;)

Got ya, good to hear you like them because I do have them ordered. I’m just impatient but I’ll have to wait till November to get them slapped on the rig. The 6112’s don’t have the extra reservoir they’re just a bit beefier with more adjustability and displacement. I figured since I do take it in rough snow a lot and love taking it off-road, mudding and all that. Eventually wanting to get into more I might as well splurge the extra couple hundred for the 6112’s up front and see how much they can take.
