Hello All,

I ordered a 2023 ram 2500 night edition with the level 2 equipment group back in September 2022. My truck has finally been built and I noticed on the updated POC copy I received from the dealer that the equipment group has been changed to "level F." Does anyone know why that is and what the difference is? Thank you.

I think its missing the new digital gauge cluster, but don't quote me on that. When I was pondering ordering a Laramie, that's what the sales guy told me, due to a chip shortage.

The biggest difference is that its more expensive. Actually on the 22 Laramie, its Level A and Level B. If you go to the Ram web site it will still let you build a '22 configuration. So you can look at a 22 level B and a 23 Level F. It does come with more stuff, but whether that's worth it is up to you and if you wanted those things anyway.

In the market and while I can understand the reasons behind it I sure miss the times when if you wanted an option or two you were not forced into buying another thirty items you have to worry about.

Yeah I had a feeling that's what happened and is what's going on. I honestly like the analog/small digital screen but lame that they aren't including the large screen. I think I'm more annoyed that they axed it and are still charging an arm and a leg for that package.

At least Ram isn't as bad as Ford who will completely omit certain options without jumping up the next trim level. At least that's how it was when I was shopping in 2021 for my truck. I was shopping XLT's, but if I wanted LED headlights or a leather wrapped steering wheel I needed to jump up to a Lariat. But I didn't want leather seats, and cloth wasn't an option on the Lariat. Where at least with Ram you can build a Bighorn to be 99% of what a Laramie is, sans the leather seats.

Also, the online configurators are absolute garbage. Haven't used either in a while, but on the 2500's certain appearance packages forced you to have a diesel. You'd select either the sport or night package and it changed the motor back to a diesel.

Best thing to do is go in to a dealer and configure your truck in their system. It's a lot more customizable.

I was really close to pulling the trigger on one or going back to the limited. You will still get the digital gauge cluster on a limited, but they discontinued the wood grain steering wheel from what I've seen, yet more $$$$.
