Hey everyone!

I did some searching around the forum and wasn't really able to find anything on this topic. I just sold my 2012 Ram 1500 and have ordered my new 2024 Ram 2500 Big Horn (6.4 Hemi). I was wondering if anyone on here has ordered one recently (within the last few months) and could give me an idea on how long they waited/currently waiting. I had three separate dealers tell me three separate lead times. One said 3-4 months, another said 4-5 months and the last said 6 months. I appreciate everyone's feedback! Thanks in advance!

2024 Ram 2500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab, 6.4 Hemi, Night Edition, Patriot Blue, Anti-spin rear, Bed Utility Group, Level 2, Premium Lighting, Protection Group, 5 Passenger seating, 9 Alpine Speakers and I/P Aux Switches.

I ordered a Laramie Oct 1 and received it laast week. Plant was Sterling Heights, Mi. They'll email you from fca when production begins, then it's just a couple of days.

I’m assuming you ordered a 1500? My 2500 will be coming out of Mexico so my timeline will be different.

I ordered a 1500 in Jul 2022 that was built in MX. It was built in a month but 5 months later it was still sitting there so I cancelled the order in Dec. The following month (Jan 2023) I ordered a 2500, also built in MX. They had that one to me in 2 months. I guess they didn't want a repeat.

@Drummin4jc plant production can be unpredictable, a lot depends on the trim level and options ordered on the vehicle.

SHAP only produces 1500 DT body trucks, as mentioned the HD trucks come out of Mexico (only produced there since about the 2000s)

So, I got a text alert this evening saying “Hello, Your 2500 has been added to our production queue.” My Order Status still shows as “Order Confirmed”. I’m assuming that’s just them letting me know that the factory has my order in their queue but hasn’t scheduled it yet?

Well, never mind on my last post. The truck has moved to “Scheduled”. :)

In 2020 it took just shy of 3 months to get mine
What did you order? I know things have changed since then. Dealers have told me that ordering times have improved from earlier this year, even.

New update! My truck went into production yesterday (12/22). Made me a little nervous that it went in on not only a Friday, but before Christmas. Hopefully, it didn’t get a lot done to it yet. Lol! Text says the expected delivery date is 3/16/24, which I’m good with because March is truck month. Hoping interest rates will have fallen by then as well as better rebates.

All dealers say that Rams delivery estimate following production is usually way off.

My 24 was produced in Sterling Mi in early Dec. It arrived at Mark Dodge one week later.

Funny you guys commented on this today… I’ve been watching my 2500 ship date get moved closer and closer. It started at 4/14, then 3/13, to 2/12 this morning and now 1/30 as of this evening! I was hoping it wouldn’t be here until March, but looks like the rail system it moving it right along from Mexico. I’ll keep you guys posted.

So, I ordered a Tradesman w/Hemi 5.7 back on 8-15-23, confirm order arrived 8-23-23, entered production 9-15-23, estimated delivery 10-13-23, est deliv changed to 10-31-23 and then changed to TBD. No word since. Dealer and his rep have tried to get info from distribution. All I'm being told is truck is built but has not been confirmed on tracker. I have also tried contacting customer care twice, cricketts. Ant thoughts ?

I’m assuming it’s a 1500? I thought those were built in the States. Anyway, I believe there is a number you can contact on their website about ordered vehicles. Unless that’s the number you already contacted. I would definitely be on my dealer to figure out what’s going on. Start telling them you’re not going to take this one and order a different one, or threaten to go to another dealer.

So, I have confirmed with my dealer that the truck is one the retail heading to Lordstown, OH (10 days estimated) and then trucked to the dealer here in SW PA (another 10 days estimated). This definitely came a LOT quicker than we anticipated. My question is; it’s showing to be at the dealership on 1/30. Do I sign the paperwork and take the extra $500 off incentive ($4,500 off HD’s this month) or wait until February and hope they offer better incentives?

No, at least not the Tradesman. I ordered a 1500 in July 2022; it was built before the end of August, and in December it was still sitting in Mexico. So I cancelled the order because no way, no how should I have to wait more than 90 days for delivery of a truck. In January last year (2023) I ordered a 2500. They had it to me in 60 days. I guess they didn't want a repeat performance.
