I posted last month that I had successfully negotiated with ramcare for the replacement of my leather dashboard and that they were going to pay 100%. Today I got word from my local dealer here in Franklin Tennessee that I would be responsible for 80% they would cover the balance. Spoke to ramcare now and they say they are no longer involved in warranty issues, and that it was at the discretion of the dealer as to whether or not to replace. So much for buying their top of the Line product. Ram truly doesn't care. And for being a loyal customer for services at my local Franklin Tennessee dealer, I would expect a little more consideration.

With Stellantis finances being what they are, I am surprised the whole RamCares team isn't seeking other opportunities.

I am wondering how folks are caring for their leather dash's? Cleaners, conditioners? I see the complaints about peeling but no real effort to gather data to see if there is a common cause.

A friend who does leather work said the only way he would recover one of those RAM dash's is to use some sort of decorative element in the concave areas to mechanically fasten the leather to the substrate as well as adhesive. Leather is a living breathing material that expands and contracts. It interacts with its environment. With all of this movement, shrinking & expanding it is very difficult for an adhesive to reliably hold on a concave surface. Convex and flat surfaces are relatively easy, just need to make sure the edges are well secured.
