Sooo, I have a 1500 Laramie, loaded up and I love it. The sunroof leaked in the rear seat area. Brought it in for repair 1st time, didnt fix it. Second time, ordered parts. 3rd time, replaced sunroof. 4th time, after sending in a Lemon Law letter, they had 10 days to fix. Still there at day 20. its been 25 days since they got the letter. Truck has been in the shop for 36 days so far for the same leak. I have a little loaner, cant pull my trailer and getting tired of the whole thing. Ram care did nothing to help. I keep my trucks for a long time, last one was for 17 years, a Chevy 2500hd with 8.1 liter and Allison trans..... great truck. If Ram doesnt get there head out of the sand, Im going back to Chevy. My question is, after having that much water, gallons upon gallons, wasn't a drip but a stream, would you take the truck back knowing that you would keep it for 15 + years and worried about the inside getting so wet that the bolts are rusting? In my opinion, there is no way possible that this truck would last as long as it would have without the leak.

Again...no year listed.

Vehicles should be like everything else that are defective, dealers should have to replace or refund if no fix is found.

Correct a 2017, started leaking around 8,000 miles and 1 year old. Purchased the 10 year warranty as well. At this point, I don't think I could afford a new style 2019 1500. Just cost too much. Will not be able to find a 2018 model same as mine this late in the game. Might be able to switch to a 2018 2500 model cost wise, if I stay with Ram.

The 4th gen is still available as the "2019 RAM Classic", Im assuming they are going for less than the "ALL NEW 2019 RAM".

I went through this process with my 2500 HD. I was just outside the lemon law criteria (2yr/24mo). Mine had a ridiculous vibration at 34k miles. Went in for warranty and after 6 months of replacing everything but the bed of the truck, there was no improvement and almost undriveable at highway speed. I lawyered up. We came to an amicable agreement :)

Your best bet is getting FCA corporate involved. Well, I wouldn't say that as if you will get the results you are looking for, but it checks off boxes for you. Look in your manual and there is number for FCA Corporate. Open a case. Get them looking at it. Unfortunately if you want legal recourse and force FCA to own it, you need to give them a chance to get corporate involved and run it into the ground. If they can't fix it, then you can file for arbitration. That is also in your manual. In most cases, that can be settled in a couple of week and in a lot of cases, they WILL buy your truck back minus a fixed rate for wear and tear for whatever miles you put on it. Or you can go the Lemon Law route which I cannot say how that might turn out from experience. Regardless, it is a LOT easier to win in arbitration or court when you allowed them multiple chances to get it right, etc.

Either way, you have options. Lemon law, arbitration, and even suing under breach of warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Act. Good luck!

I would be concerned about mold also. At this time, it would be best to consult a lawyer who is familiar with your states lemon laws. He/she can best advice you on how to proceed under your state lemon law.

I scored my 2500 for a better price than I could get a 2019 4x2

FCA Corporate was notified by 2 return receipt letters regarding the leak and mold, staining, smell, etc etc. Their Attorney told me to drop it off, that was 20 days ago. I contacted a Lemon Law attorney because FCA dropped the ball on it. Is there a way to contact you on the phone since your from NJ as well, I had a few questions.

I believe they are not making anything above the bighorn version.

Are you sure it's the sunroof?
Could it be the 3rd brake light?
Maybe they're fixing the wrong thing.

That is a over simplified expectation. Vehicles are not like a broken $20 watch you bought at Walmart yesterday that you can stand in line for 10 minutes and get your money back. Vehicles have many other considerations like bank financing, taxes, registration fees, insurance, diminished value and deduction of fair use to be unwind and that takes a longer process.

Indeed, yet Carvana has a seven-day money back guarantee. Yep, I know they're not a manufacturer or a dealer in many senses of the word, nor are these new vehicles we're talking about, but still...

Anyhoo, OP, I sure hope things get squared away for you...were I in the same boat, I'd be going crazy right now. I simply wouldn't have the time or energy to pursue this; definitely keep us posted!

Hi tastysuds,

We're so sorry this is happening! If you can DM us with your VIN or FCA case number (if you have one), we can ensure this is looked into.

Really !! Lemon Law for a leaking sun roof? Sorry but that is almost a waste of use for a decent consumer support law. Hope it gets fixed, I do NOT do sunroofs, never have and won't. People tend to do things that mess them up, not saying you did but hey things happen. Good luck.
