So I have seen pretty much all the aftermarket wheels a lot of makers are putting out now. And the one thing they seem to all have is the fake rim screws around the lip....

I want to see what's out there with a smoother look (i.e. no faux rim screws).

The only style I've been able to find on my own have been Hostile Rage wheels

But of course I cant seem to find them in a20x12 -44 offset ram 1500 bolt pattern

Hostile Rage.jpg

Show me what else you guys can find that'll fit our trucks without all the fake bolts around the lip!!!

Sub'd. I need something as well in all black, 20x12, -44 offset without all the machined cuts.

so my search seems to be leading me to two seperate paths....

one which would be a lot cheaper:
22x10 srt 10 replicas in a polished finish with 2.5" BORA spacers and some 37X12.5s
heres a pic of a 4gen truck with some....i think polished would look a lot better on my truck though
srt10 replicas 2.jpg

another which would be a lot more expensive:
american force also with 37x12.5s
would run me $3,*** it looks like in 22" sizes
american force.jpg

the more i search...the more i think 22" wheels look good on these trucks if the wheel style is right

That’s a good idea and with your chrome go with polished forged wheels, fuel makes some too. The lighter weight will help minimize the effects of the 37’s too. 20x12 cast wheels are heavy

Here’s another lifted truck with srt10 replicas

Polished seems to be the only look I’ll be happy with

Now for tires. I want something a hair taller than my 35x11.5 and I want wider as well. My current 20x8s are hindering me and gotta go at this point.

Check out 325/60R20, it’s taller than 35 and close to 13.50 wide. My boss at work has these on his Silverado with 10” wide wheels

Here’s a pic of one next to my 37’s

Are fuel forged lighter then the average wheel?

Oh and OP I recommend going with atleast a 37” tire if your doing 22” wheels. Anything smaller then 37” will just not look right IMO

The weight difference is nothing dramatic, maybe about 15% lighter. That said, the wheel is closer to the centre of rotation than the tire so it's easily overpowered by tire choice. If you choose a heavy tire you might not feel the benefits of a lighter wheel. If he selects a "lighter" tire along with the lighter wheel, the weight difference could be significant. Its just a good idea to take everything into consideration.

example...One reason I chose my yokohama 37 was due to weight, its only 4 lbs heavier than a 35 ridge grappler.

Forging
Forged wheels are different in that they start out as aluminum billet, typically 6-7 inch diameter bar stock. These are then cut into the right length (the volume needed), heated, and pressed into shape (using very accurate dies and successive steps) under about 6-12000 tons of pressure. The forging process imparts a lot of energy into the metal and changes the internal grain structure of the aluminum (metals have a crystalline structure) and this change in the grain structure is what gives a forging additional strength in comparison to the original billet rod. They are then heat treated to a T6 condition in the case of 6061-T6 to get the right mix of strength and ductility. A forged aluminum wheel has a higher specific strength as well as higher toughness (engineering term for its ability to absorb energy) in comparison to a casting. This allows an engineer to design a wheel that is lighter, stiffer and less susceptible to cracking under impact and with better fatigue properties than a casting...

They look about the same aka if they weren’t right side by side you wouldn’t be able to tell much difference.

Do you know the weight diff between your tire and his?

My goal is to go as light as possible but I haven’t yet done much research into how much difference there really is between two similarly sized tires....can there really be much? And which 35+ inch tires are the lightest?

Agreed. I don’t want to go full on 37s either with my trucks drivetrain (aka I’m looking at you 3.21s). My 35s are fine so if I can go a hair bigger but still not go full on 37s I think I’ll be happy. My Ridge Grapplers right now are like 34.25” actual height mounted I think.

Maybe if I found the smallest (in actual height) and lightest 37 it would work alright on my truck? I’m just not sure which tire that’d be

Mine are taller, keep in mind my tires have the weight of my truck on them while his is just rolled up beside. Now that his are mounted they are maybe 34.5 tall. Tires lose about .75 to 1” when mounted. You should measure yours again with a straight edge and a level on top of it. I’ll bet yours are barely 34”

Here’s my 37 next to a 35x12.50, took few pics at DT

I did measure mine one time with a straight edge and tape measure and I think I was not much over 34 on the tape with about 40psi in them. Would have to donit again to tell you exactly what it was.

What do our factory tires measure when mounted do you know?
