@hodge-xj thank you very much for your help!! I know it’s just an inch I’m looking to raise front to level to back but to my eye I can tell. Thanks again!

No problem. Send Nick a message, you're not the first one to do this so he can get you a bit more accurate info and pricing. He will definitekt get you hooked up. Truck looks good, so a little more height up front should ice the cake for you.

The 5100s will freshen up the ride as well since they're an upgrade over the stock/cheap zone combo you currently have. So it's a win win

I have the same lift with the Bils ... While you’re at it, I’d replace those Zone shocks in the rear ... If they’re not shot already, they won’t last long ... I did Pro Comps and the matched up with the Bils very nice

Hey guys I just called a performance shop here in STL and they told me the Bilstein 5100 shocks will stretch out to far even though I only need around 1 inch up front to level to back. He said this or changing spacer to different height would be bad on ball joints and steering. I’m going to take somewhere to have them check it out but thoughts in mean time!? Thanks for patience with my lack of knowledge so far

Yes hodge is correct tons of rams using the 6 inch and 4 inch zone lift add bilsteins up front to get the perfect height they want up front.

Just went to a shop to have checked out and they told me that I currently have some lift with 4 inch spacer. The upper control arms are currently set at a level instead of slightly tilted down. They recommended replacing current strut and spacer with rough country 6in lifted N3 struts and a block in rear if needed. Thoughts?

I can't double quote you so I'll touch on this and yoir previous post.

1st off, the performance shops logic is in the right direction, but they're wrong. Bilstein 5100s, though adjustable, aren't any longer than the stock shocks you have installed up front right now. What the adjustment does is changes preload on the spring which, in turn, changes the static height the suspension sits at ride height. They go from 0" lift to 2.8" lift by compressing the coil on the shock it's self. If the shocks were longer you could surely run into lots of issues quickly, but your lift (zone 4") is set up to use stock length front shocks below thst spacer. Which the 5100s in question are. The rear 4" lift shocks are needed though, which is why you currently have the white shocks in the back. Those are not stock.

The reason I point this out is simply based off the fact that you were already happy at this height and just wanted a to get that last bit of level.

The 6" RC struts aren't a bad option, and it's not a bad move to go to full length shocks and get rid of that big spacer above the shock that's there now. If you look on rough countrys site they have plenty of happy customers, and I've used them in the past. They re not top of the line, but they have a really good customer service dept, and their products have increased in quality alot. If you go this route, I have to assume you'll probably need a 1" or 1.5" spacer to bring the rear to match the front.

Neither is a bad choice, so whichever you choose you'll be happy. I just wanted to clarify a bit of the misinformation for you in case you didn't want to jump all the way to 6" of lift. I don't wanna see you buy something you didn't feel like you wanted without having all the info.

Hodge-xj thanks for information! They also shared with me that by going up in height in the front to match rear that it would actually probably have smoother ride and be less wear and tear with how my current upper arms are sitting. Instead of a slight angle they are pointed level if not up slightly.

What would you do? Bio 5100 or 6in strut in front and added spacer in rear to match heights

So the front Rough Country struts are 329$ direct from them. Matching rear shocks are 90$. Add in a rear spacer for say 75$ since their prices ranhe a bit. So figure about $500 ish in parts. It's a couple hour job for a shop to pull the struts, rear coils and shocks. Depending on the rate in your area (usually $50-100/hr) I'll peg the jump to 6" at aboit $750-$1000 give or take.

I found the bilstein 5100s for 223$ for the front pair, and 162$ for the rears. $385 for parts. Considering they have to pull the front end totally apart figure still id say that you're looking at 750$ ish.

Now these are all assumptions, and @Nick@GotExhaust could get you more accurate quotes on the bilsteins.

If it were me, id likely run the 5100s simply because it's less to deal with in regards to changing anything, you're basically just upgrading your shocks for better ones without changing too much in terms of geometry or mixing components. Money is also a big consideration of mine, and can add up quickly. I personally like lower lift and big tires, so I'm surely biased to the 4" height you're at.

I DO NOT want to sway you one way or another, it's your truck, do what will put a bigger smile on your face when you look at it. Either way it's gonna look and ride better than it does right now

@JB1 and a few others have done this IIRC and all are happy.

My tapatalk app is junk, but if you search zone 4" with bilsteins there's a huge thread on it. I just can't seem to find it.

No problem. We're here to help and inform you as best as we can. So long as you're happy with your decision in the end and don't feel like "I wish I would have known" than our job is successful

Also the nice thing is that you don't have to hurry with your decision because your truck is in great shape as it is, but you're just looking for that last little piece of the pie to make it perfect.

@brad_12 If I wanted to go from my 4 inch zone lifted to 6 inch would the 5100 adjustable work with the 4 inch spacer up front. The other option I have is the rough country where I would remove shock and spacer and use the 6 inch strut assembly. Either way I’m going to do rear too what do you recommend for either option. Thanks
