Hi, I am new to this forum so forgive me if this topic has been brought up before. I have a 2019 Ram 1500. It's a 2 wheel drive & I would like to have it leveled but i have received conflicting information and being the indecisive person that I am I can't figure out what to do.

I've been told that by going with the 2 inch spacers that it will change the quality of the ride and that I need to go with the kit that comes with the control arms. Then, on the other hand I'm being told that the spacers are all i need and it wont affect the quality of the ride at all.

What are some of you all's experiences with this and what do you all recommend?

Thanks!

Hi .....welcome to the forum,

This is just my input .....from my experience w/2wd, I have ran spacers & I have ran spring change ...... honestly they felt about the same.......what you will need is longer shocks or shock extenders

Bullpucky spacers won't affect your ride, lol. You need shock level and leave spacers alone, I will find my thread, I had to take spacers off the ride was so ruff.

my spacer versus bills thread

So, the binding of spacers can cause you to throw out your ball joints, zone control arms have stopped this as far as I've heard. Will Bilstein level also cause ball joint issue? Maybe, but there will be less a chance with bills then spacers, I have no doubt about that. The issue was Ram changed the control arms at one point, I wasn't aware they were still running the garbage control arms, but nothing surprises me anymore. Lucky for me in 2010 I have the higher quality CA's, so I have never had an issue once I got the spacers off my truck. Some guys say yeah spacers = no issue, but think about this, you are taking springs OUT of a spring when you use a spacer, to say this wont change the ride or increase pressure in your suspension has zero credibility.

I got the Daystar 1.5" leveling kit for my 2014 1500 2WD installed last year and so far so good. I've put 5000 miles in it and the ride quality remained the same save for some firmer bounce when hitting potholes and speed bumps.
The shop told me 1.5" didn't need any work done to the CA nor the shocks, but they said taller kits might need shock extenders and/or new shocks. I was initially looking for 2.5".

The options are quite limited to 2WD Rams, you can't just put Bilstein 5100s nor 4WD leveling kits which are plentiful. The suspension is totally different between both, so you either get a moderately sized leveling kit or a full lift kit starting from $600 + labor.

research "prerunner" kits for ram if you really want a 2wd that can handle most stuff a 4wd can handle. 4wd shops can put a good pre runner kit for 4 hours labor. If you buy the kit there the price will be good. Pride of ownership, put a little extra into your truck, one of the weaknesses in the 1500's are these front suspensions, they are not as easily upgraded as the solid axle 2500's + are. good luck

Sorry for the late reply. ! I don't get on here that much and it's still sort of complicated for me to navigate this sight but if you don't mine me asking....what did the RC springs, upper control arms and shock extenders run you?
