Okay, so I ordered a 2 inch leveling kit today, consisting of front coil spacers for my 98 2wd 1500, was wondering how much trouble am I going to have to through installing these? Are there any shortcuts? Am I going to have to rent a coil spring compressor? I've never messed with spacers before.

Link to spacers I bought

From what I read you just have to jack up the truck enough to remove the weigh off the springs and pry them in, but maybe someone will have better advice lol

I am planning on ordering a leveling kit for my 95 1500 so I'd be interested to see what all the install entails...

one of the guys with lowered truck may be of more help since they deal more with 2wd truck. the 4x4s are easy but that all I know anything about. Good luck with the install. Get new shocks with those spacers?

well consider if your lifting the truck the shocks dont extend that far at least under X amount of suspension drop. Might get a rough ride and some a very short shock life. just saying.

I have a 2" level waiting to be installed to. gotta get my shocks first though.

as far as I can tell, jack the truck up, support the end of the axle because you have to release the upper control arm and it will drop if not supported and you will bust brake lines. then just take the coils out and put them back in with the spacers and button it all back up. some people have said they can just pull the springs out and others use the compressor tool.
