Good day guys/gals,
Wondering if anyone has installed a 6” lift or higher and still modding the engine/trans for Preformance?
I know that if you go big tires/lift, doesnt necessarily mean you have to drive in the “slow lane”. Just wanting to see who else is in the same boat as me lol

A few guys on Facebook on high performance rams have. One guy (Matt Riggle) with a 1500 5.7 6 speed on a 6” lift with leveling struts snd 3” body lift currently on 40s dropping a twin turbo stroker in his truck. My trucks 3” lift and 35s with 6.4 intake manifold, long tubes, catback, custom engine and trans tune. Shifts at 6200rpm. Eventually getting cam and a snorkel for cold air. Have 3.92 rear gears.

Not huge, but ~5" lift with 35's. Most bolt ons at the moment, still moves along pretty decent. Wish I had to do the 4.56's, but thinking 8 speed swap is in the cards now so the 3.55's should cut it. Then cam and TorqueStorm after that. Should be a decent little sleeper. Now if only money grew on trees lol

Even with the 8 speeds with the 35s you’ll want deeper gears than 3.55. Wish I had 4.10s but 3.92 is so close that i feel it wouldn’t make a difference but I feel like 4.56 would be to deep for me. Honestly my 8 speed 3.92 and 35s will smoke the tires easy

Yeah I wish I had the 3.92's, but I don't think I can justify the cost. Would be a different story if I had the 3.21's. But who knows, maybe I will end up with 4.56 down the road.

You doing the 8-speed swap yourself or paying someone else?
Have a donor truck for parts or purchase parts from salvage yard?

Many keep adding power, in fact most do more to help overcome the added weight from wheels/tires. Gears are a big help and so is some bolt ons and a tune. I have many customers that we set them up with a lift and later on added long tube headers, tune, gear, intake, etc....

Let us know if we can help.

Haven't got that far yet, but will be installing myself. And will try to track down a used trans and pick up Sound German Automotive's harness. The rest I'll piece together from wherever I can. It's good that more guys have/are doing this swap to get an idea of what I'm up against.

Well since I’m not alone I’m on this……My stock was 3:55 gears and 5 speed trans. Running 37” with 9” lift and 4:56 gears front and rear. TSP stage 2 cam kit with Hellcat lifters, MDS delete kit, 2800-3000 stall CD converter, Mag Hytech deep Trans pan/diff cover, large trans cooler, rebuilt valve body with billet plate, transgo reprogramming kit, red eagle racing clutches in the ol 545rfe. Pedal commander, Hemifever custom tune via diablosport, core 4x4 rear setup, including end links, hellwig, Moe’s 87mm throttle body, S&B CIA, Holley ****** valve covers , 180 stat, and waiting for my V6 fan arrive. Street fire coil packs that is alittle better then the stock 5.7 09-12. Years t moves when needed. Seconds trans though as the first took a dump going 120km on the highway while wifey and the kids where driving behind me. Looking into the 6.4 Intake manifold swap next.

I have 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn. It has the 8 speed tranny. But I have a 6 inch BDS lift with a 3 inch PA body lift. I'm running 38's on 20 inch wheels. Weight is about 140lbs a wheel with the tire.

I installed flowmaster cat back exhaust, american racing headers long tube, K&N cold air intake. Also did a tune on it. The biggest difference was adding pedal commander. It gets up and goes. No problem with acceleration. Also adding pedal commander helped with has mileage. Depending on how I'm feeling I can average 14mpg.

Adding headers will help minimal. Gives the exhaust a meaner sound. But really just need to get the thing super charged.

Your next biggest bang for the buck would be an 8 speed swap. The extra 3 gears paired with your 4.56 gears is a night and day difference.
