Hello forum. I have a question for you guys that know a lot about wiring. I just finished the wiring of my KC lights. If you look at the pictures below you will see that the lights are mounted to an after market bumper. I had to scratch the fog lights provided from the factory. What that leaves is a plug with nothing plugged into it. I want these KC lights to work in place of my factory fog lights by being able to be wired into the factory provided switch (see photo of said switch). Can someone offer me some insight. Sorry, but you are going to have to walk me through it as if you are explaining it to Helen Keller.

I guess, while I am on the topic, I have this mess in my hands. I organized it as best I could. Could I use those wire connectors to cut and join the wires to take the mass amount of slack out?

yes cut them to length, solder and heat shrink will be the bet option.

Should be straight forward... meter those 4 wires. Just find the two that show 12v with the fog lights turned on... and splice into that. Or get male connects and see if they fit in the plug, that way you don't have to splice the wiring.

And that is a mess! Cut wires to length, tape them tight, then put wire loom over it, and tape over the wire loom. If done right it will look 100% factory.

Ok, I will do all that stuff. My question is, if you look at the instructions provided from KC lights. Based on what you are telling me, I will splice the wiring connecting the "green" and "white" wires (I circled them in red) to those of the factory wires that read 12v on the meter. What do I do with the ground (brown wire). I am assuming I can lengthen it and just keep it in use still.

Since I am using 2 out of the four wires from the factory wiring, I should just cap off the remaining two wires. Correct?

I am new to this, learning is part of the fun, I don't want to pay a shop because I like the challenge. Sorry you have to dumb this down for me. I appreciate it.

First to be clear, I WOULD NOT cut off the factory plug.

From that diagram -

- Green will go to 12v+ on the factory plug.

- Yellow goes directly to the battery positive.

- Black goes to ground, any where is fine.

- Brown will not be used.

- White will not be used.

Splice like this:
