So I recently purchased a 2014 RAM 1500 LIMITED and was curious to know if I have the limited slip Diff? According to my build sheet for my VIN I have the 3.2 DIFF but it doesn't say Limited Slip on the sheet? Does that mean that I don't have the Limited Slip. I have 75K miles on her so plan on changing diff oil in the future.

Look for Anti Spin Differential on your build sheet

Hi PRRAM,

If you want to send your VIN in a PM, I can also double-check everything for you.

Here is where I looked up the build sheet for my VIN if anyone needs it.
Guess I don't have the anti spin.

"215MM Front Axle
3.21 Rear Axle Ratio
235MM REAR AXLE
Conventional Differential Frt Axle
Conventional Differential Rear Axle"

Look in the "optional equipment " section. That's where it will say, said antispin there for mine.

The LSD in my 07 Cummins worked great. this is one thing thats on my todo list woth no question as I do not like the open diff even though it spins both tires most times.

Thats my Cummins in fromt of thosr marks right before I traded it off.

Other night going to the drive in , we pulled, or attempted to pull up on a grassy mound to park , slight frame twist, wheel was no where near being of the ground.. stopped me dead had to use 4x4..Gentleman beside me pulled right up in a 2 wheel drive 80's model s-10.. I REALLY liked the electronic rear locker in my ford, wish this ram had it.

You can turn the anti-spin off when needed

Thinking you are confusing the anti-spin diff for Traction control.. One is Electronic (traction control) and one Mechanical (anti spin diff) The diff does not have a way to "turn it off"

I will agree that the open diff sucks big time. I purchased a new Rebel and it had an open differential in it, so I ordered a limited-slip diff from Moe's and it is much nicer. This is the first time I had anything with one wheel drive since 1970.
If you put the rear axle on jack stands or raise both rear wheels off the ground and put the transmission in neutral, then and turn one wheel and if the other one turns the opposite direction, you have a open diff. But if both of them turn the same direction, or the wheel you are not turning does not turn, you gave a limited-slip.

The only reason the S-10 kept both wheels on the ground is because it had a rusty loose frame.

Yea, probably because my truck is 6 football fields long (cc LB) BUT it definitely did not lift a wheel as was evident of the nice hole the tire left upon spinning.
Suppose if I could have touched the brakes a bit it may have engaged, who knows.

I ran a Detroit locker in my 2005 Chevy 2500HD and loved that sucker!! Never failed me! They don't seem to be as popular nowadays though....

I have anti-spin and I have a button in cab to turn it off.

I have anti spin diff as well, and a button in my cab, but it turns the traction control off and on.. Unless you have something "other" than an anti spin differential, like an electric locker like my ford had, there is simply no way to turn off or on the anti spin differential, it is purely mechanical in nature and works (or doesn't work) purely automatically depending on the amount of traction / slippage it detects.
