I have a 2014 1500 Limited with the 'anti-spin'.

Either they didn't install it or it's pretty much useless because on slippery surfaces, only one tire will spin, no matter what.

I THINK they used the marketing term "anti spin" for the torsen all gear AAM TracRite differentials. At least they did for mine. And used "limited slip" for the clutch differentials.

It's hard to keep track of what the MBA's are up to.

I also read FCA got rid of AAM for a cost reduction / profit improvement. a-holes
This is what I have seen. I'm interested in where you gathered this information and is it for the Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500's?

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has announced that it has secured production for the next-generation axle and driveshaft program for Ram’s next-generation of Heavy Duty pickups and Chassis Cab trucks. The Detroit-based manufacturer stated in a press release on Friday. It will continue to be a Ram strategic driveline supplier through 2030.

It was announced some years back in this Forum. These guys go back and forth for contracts, esp. when ownership changes.

For instance - I was working at Cummins when Chrysler went bankrupt and FCA bought them. FCA cancelled the contract Chrysler signed with Cummins to put a diesel into the half ton trucks, that's because FCA was in bed with whoever was making the 3.0 ecodiesel in Europe that started as a GM engine.

Cummins went on to get Nissan to take the engine. We know how that turned out too.

Do you have an ABS warning lamp illuminated? Starting from 2013 all Rams got BLD which is what enables the elimination of the preload on the clutches.

On a preloaded LSD the clutches are always wearing on each other, every time you go around any curve and every time one of your tires is slightly less inflated than the other. That heats up the oil, contaminates it with friction material and steel, changes the performance of the LSD over time as the clutches wear out and the friction properties of the oil change. It has to maintain a balance of ramping toward a lock when you need it but not locking up and sending you into a ditch when you're on a slippery road.

2013+ got BLD which is Ram/Jeep/etc's brand name for off-road traction control and its whole function is to apply the brakes to a wheel that's spinning faster than the other wheel on the same axle. Since that inherently loads up the cam in a limited slip differential it got rid of the need for a spring to do that job so the clutches don't see constant wear and the behavior doesn't change over the life of the differential.

It also means that even without the anti-spin option a 2013+ would not just spin a single wheel.

How many miles on the truck? When was the last time the rear axle fluid was changed?
The 1500 versions were clutch based and thus simply wear out. I've seen big differences between a brand new fresh unit as compared to one with 50,000 miles on it. If there were 100k+ miles on the original unit it probably is useless!

95k on the original fluid.

I TRIED IT 4 TIMES AND IT KEEPS COMMING UP WITH "oops" Maybe it's not up and working.

I've had that response as well, the first time I saw it was in 2025 and I just assumed it wouldn't go back "11 years" for my build.
I just checked it again, twice, between 1:10pm and 1:15pm EST, and it's OK.
Save the link and try it again when you get a chance?

You can also grab an exact duplicate (in color!) of your window sticker, also based on your VIN. Mine shows the same data...

Hope this helps.
