I put a 6 inch rcx lift in my 2012 1500 sport this weekend and I noticed the shocks will allow for more travel than the the springs could handle before just falling out. Anyone else have this issue? Im going to put limiting straps to prevent this just want to know if someone did that with this set up and where they bolted them and how long of a strap did they use. Any info would be appreciated here.

No not really but from the price I seen and the peace of mind I figure why not do it.

Yeah I've got the same problem with my 6" rcx lift also. I was thinking about getting straps too. I think the rcx shocks are too long

Bolt them to where the shocks are bolted to...

yeah I also used the shocks with the kit. All the straps I looked at have a flat tab at the end to bolt on so the upper shock bolt wouldn't sit the way it should. I've seen others that drilled out the frame and made a flat surface to bolt on to but id like to avoid that if anyone had a better idea.

Without looking at my truck, I think I know what your talking about. The diameter of the rcx shock bodies are pretty big, so the flat tab would hit the shock body. But What might work is, using spacers or washers to bring the strap mount away from the shock.

Thanks for the help man. I just looked at the shock specs that came in the kit (i dont know why i didnt think to do that in the first place)and there 23 full extend so I guess ill go 20" on the straps because it has about 2" to extend past why the coil will go.
