I'm having the same issue. I can't open my tailgate. Unlocked from fob or door and still not opening. Has happened twice so far and both times the temp has been below 32 *.

My only complaint is remote start locks the doors automatically. So there are times I hit unlock for my wife then remote start and that just bites me. But I can immediately unlock once started.

To answer the why someone would remote start while walking up to it. I've always been a fan of allowing the motor to at least get past fast idle before driving so it allows the truck time to settle while getting in. If it is just me I'll sit the minute and wait if I have passengers I'll try to speed things along.

My wife's Mustang you actually hit lock and then double click remote start. Her's does work 150' away and the remote blinks a green light saying it worked.

When I use my remote start i can’t immediately unlock the truck and get in. I have to wait several minutes and the remote will then unlock the doors. Anyone else notice this?

so this morning when I used auto start it would not unlock for a minute or so. Weird because yesterday it unlocked instantly after using auto start. It would not lock either right away. Not sure what is up lol.

Hello everyone,
We certainly understand why this would be concerning, and we apologize for the inconvenience it may cause. Our team would appreciate the opportunity to investigate this further on your behalf. If at any point you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, please send our team a private message with your VIN so that we may escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for support. Thank you,

I was notified by Ram Cares via phone today that Rams engineers are testing/working on this issue. They claim more like mine have popped up.

Be sure to get to your dealer and have this documented. The more that pop up the faster (maybe) they will come up with a fix.

mine acts as yours does. Once the ambient temp is warmer or after the truck is warm after driving it works fine.

the issue only locks you out when cold.
