Locking tail gate

I have a 2013 big horn and was wondering if I have a power tail gate lock. If not what package do you have to have to get it?

My sisters boyfriend has the power locking tailgate with his Big Horn package. I also have it on my sport.
If you listen when you lock it you can hear it lock. On my truck you can hear it just after the doors lock.

also look for a key hole on handle of tailgate or are you meaning remote locking?

Quick way to check:
1. Do you have keyless entry?
If yes, go to step 2, if no, you don't have it.
2. Unlock the doors with your remote, then check to see if tailgate is unlocked.
If yes go to step 3, if no, you don't have it.
3. Lock your doors with your remote, then check to see if the tailgate is locked.
If yes, you have it, if no, you don't have it.

If you have keyless remote and a tailgate that locks with a key, the locking option is fairly easy to add.
I believe the same kit for the 2012 fits the 2013 - Mopar Part# 82211668AB

I think it is standard on 2013+. My Express has it. You can hear the solenoid actuate when locking or unlocking...

Open tailgate.


Check for wiring coming out of tailgate going through bed.


Look under truck up at area where wiring goes through truck bed from tailgate, see if connector's connected.


Done.

Thanks for the suggestions but I think I am smart enough to figure these out.
Guess what, I went through your list all the way and it did not lock so according to you I don't have it but guess what? I took the tail gate apart and it is there but the cylinoid is not locking it. To the dealer it goes.

I thought it was standard if you had power locks. Keep us posted on what the dealer says.

Glad you were smart enough to figure it out.
Sorry I forgot to add "or it's broken" at the end of step 3.

I suppose you could have also registered at moparownerconnect.com and checked the options for your truck.

Update. Took in to dealer and after prodding around with circuit tester they found a wire that was not pushed into the plug all the way. Now I have a locking tail gate. Yippee.
