Hello everyone, I just bought my very first truck. It is an '06 Dodge Ram Lonestar Edition. I absolutely love it, and I love the things people do to them through mods. Currently I have already picked out a toolbox, seat covers, and floor mats for my truck. Their links -

What I really want to get is one of those Bluetooth/GPS touch screen stereos, but I have been searching and searching everywhere, and it seems that my truck only has a single din and not double? Is that so? I've seen all variations of answers, and my experience in this category is limited, so what is it, single or double din? I was looking at the parrot smart ( http://www.amazon.com/Parrot-Navigat...pr_product_top ) and I want to get something like this, as my budget permits for a lot more than that price anyway.

What do you all think? Any upgrades I'm not looking far enough into, or are some of these not worth the money/trouble? And is my truck a single din or double din? I sure hope it is a single din, but I don't think it is. Well anyways thank you for all the help you all have to offer, and I appreciate in advance for this. Cheers

Your truck has a 1.5din slot. You need to get a dash piece from a truck that came stock with nav, then you can install a double din.

Where could I obtain one of those?

Okay, I researched quite a bit and ended up finalizing what I'm going to buy with this new nav dash -

What'cha think? Is this the right one for my truck? And I'm assuming this ( Amazon.com: Parrot Asteroid SMART Digital Media Receiver with Navigation, Apps, Multimedia and Hands-Free Bluetooth: Car Electronics ) will fit inside of it with ease?

Thank you so much for the advice and help. It is very much appreciated my friend.

If you settle on a fold out head unit, make sure it has room to fold out. On my 05 ram the way the dash is shaped can get in the way of the screen when it is out in some cases. Not sure about yours, but its something to think about.

Ahhh yes. I had completely forgotten about that posing a problem, especially with the sd card. Thank you for bringing that up.

Would you suggest an aftermarket dash over a dash kit that would be way less money and do the same thing? Because I would rather pay the extra for the dash than have the kit crap out on me... You know?

And do you think the stereo is a good choice?

The bezel you posted is the one you need. The parrot head unit will fit. you will also need an install kit because the stock nav unit was bigger than a double din. I dont know if the parrot unit is any good. just havent heard anything about it. Its certainly interesting and Im considering replacing my dated pioneer unit right now. Ive been looking at the 8 inch alpine unit. I would avoid the flipout units. They look half-assed to me, especially when you have a double din option. Remember to budget some extra money for all the harnesses and adapters you will need to do the install correctly. Some will tell you that you wont need them, but the install is so much easier with them and you dont have to cut or tap any stock wires
