Im getting ready to haul my camper 6500lbs from southern ontario to northern bc with my 8spd hemi. Truck has 35000 miles on it. Hopeing the 8spd holds up probably going to be close to 15000kms round trip.

I monitor my trans, coolant, & oil temps on the dash when I tow. Dunno if your truck has that option. If the trans stays in its safe range, I can't see why it would falter or fail. I routinely tow in mountainous areas that really make it work too.

I wouldn't bat an eye at towing that distance with that setup. The 8 speed trany's are great trany's and the Hemi can certainly handle that load especially with only 35k on it. Not saying your concern isn't possibly valid but I'd be more concerned with the amount of fuel costs than any kind of reliability worries.

Only issue is distance between gas stations. Carry some extra fuel in case you forget to fill when you should. Some long distance between gas stations on a cross country trip. Truck should be just fine with that weight and it's still pretty cold out so I doubt your Trans or engine temps will be a problem at all.
