One of the down sides to adding boost to a stock piston'd Hemi with-out opening up the top ring gap on the stock pistons.Time to put a forged bottem end in it now. You're credit card is gonna be smoking hot,lol

If you're hurting for money, you might get away with dropping 1 new stock piston back in,but you'd want to regap all the rings at the same time. There have been a couple guys who've broke a stock piston and got away with just replacing that 1 piston, but it's what i'd call a temporary band-aid fix till you can afford better pistons, but they've also pulled the blower at the same time.

I dont know what should be my next move. I already bought a cam for the 5.7.
Should I get a forged 5.7 and run the cam I got?
Go 392 route and still use that cam I got for the 5.7
Or go forged 5.7 with the cam and turn boost up to 10 psi?

put it all back together and go trade it in on a new classic that you can get a good deal on then put the cam in the new one

Was actually thinking about LME build me a short block. How do you feel about them?

They've been around awhile,so they're probably pretty good. BES is probably one the best shops around when it comes to Hemi's,but i think they're on the high end of the scale as far as price goes.Bischoff just built Geoff Turks new 1700 horse motor for BlackBird, and they also build alot of Rob Goss's motors,so that kind of lets you know what their prices might be like, lol.

Price wise bes and lme are very close. Only reason I would leaning towards LME is because I wouldn’t have to pay to shipping of the core and heads to get worked. I’m 4 hours from LME. I will have to talk with jay and make sure he is willing to tune the truck with a 392

I guess you were running this boosted already? Curious what cam you were going to put in? I guess at this point the engine is still in the truck or did you pull it?

Yes sir I was boosted when i found out. I raced it a local track last week and it did great. Started pulling the heads off to start the cam swap and I saw it. I was getting ready to put a custom grind boost cam from Jay.

Cool. Now you can be like me with a semi failed boosted stock engine (had gasket) and getting forged internals.
