I have a '22 ram power wagon with $15k miles. I'm considering getting an extended warranty. Does anyone have a lead on the best pricing for a genuine mopar extended warranty? Thanks in advance.

If you get a quote from Ziegler make sure you call them. They will usually apply available discounts and possibly a little more if you talk to them in person.

They were one of the lowest prices when I shopped around (within $50 of the lowest I found).

Granger as stated, $50 over cost and cheapest I could find.

I've bought two extended service plans from Tom.....I live in Massachusetts and my dealer wanted $3000 for 7year unlimited miles...Tom did it for $1700 (2021 Ram 2500 / 6.4L Hemi / 4wd)

Interestingly, I had a 2019 that I traded in on the 2021 with the same warrantee from Tom. When I called him to buy another warrantee on the new truck, they returned $1400 of my money since I had not used the policy! Amazing service!

Last January I bought a 3 year full coverage plan out to 75,000 miles for my 3500 Cummins for $3,100. I believe the premium is higher for the HD Cummins. It's an FCA product

Go to the Ram website for plans. They offer best price, finance it if you want, and start it while you are on line . Best deal period!!!!!!!

You can find dealerships that are selling in volume for low profit instead of high(est) profit per policy.

It's the same as buying "discount" OEM parts online. If you go in it's going to cost MSRP + markup (they might give you a discount and take off some or all of the markup - you get a "deal" and they still get a profit for a win/win). If you buy online they sell at a small percentage above cost for volume sales and you pay the shipping. Depending on the shipping cost depends on how good a deal it is for you.

My experience has been that the Internet Sales department usually deals in bulk with low profit margins where it is just the opposite if you walk in to the dealership to buy a vehicle, parts, or products.

Not at Granger. I got the same $50 over cost deal when I picked up the truck I'd order from them. And I did shop it around before taking the 6 hour drive to get there. So it's not just an internet thing for them.

There are those exceptions. Some go for volume for everything. Corporate gives substantial bonuses to dealerships for specific goals and it is up to each dealer to figure out what path they want to take: make as much profit off the customer and maybe reach some corporate goals or make a little off the customer and get money from corporate for selling lots of vehicles, products, and parts.

If I purchase the warranty from MI, does any repair covered under the warranty have to be conducted in MI? I live in Southern CA .....daft question but I have been stung before after buying a service plan from a dealer in Idaho that could only be performed at that dealer!

No as long as we are talking about the Mopar Maxcare extended warranty. It is good nationwide at any factory Ram service shop.

There can be all kinds of loopholes in the after market ext warranties though.
