Yes, to protect from theft. I am not near my truck for a few months and wanted to come and see what you guys can suggest.
I thought it might have to be custom fabbed.
Not necessarily, it may deter them at the very least. If the skid plate is 3/16" or 1/4" its going to take some time to remove. More than likely it would be bolted to the frame vs welding.Whatever they use to cut the cats out will also cut the plate out. High temp glue a spent round on it, maybe that will deter them, but if someone wants your cat they will get your cat.
Are you talking a custom plate for our trucks or a generic one size fits all?Check amazon, they sell like 100's of these things in the 200 cost.
Yeah, I had the URL link to the cage. But right now I am on my laptop and no access to my PC url files, I will post later when on my main PCI do remember seeing something about a "cage" that someone put around the converter as a theft deterrent but I dont remember where I saw it. I get the idea but thieves will take it if they want it regardless. I dont know where you keep the truck while you're away from it but is suggest seeing if a friend can keep it at their place and maybe drive it once in awhile to keep it moving so people think its being used on a regular basis and not stationary. Just a thought
There are companies making cages for cats to prevent (read slow down) theft specifically. You might try looking for them. Its becoming big business nationwide so the prices might be reasonable. The cage mesh allows for airflow too.Yes, to protect from theft. I am not near my truck for a few months and wanted to come and see what you guys can suggest.

I thought about this recently as well. I'm thinking an under-vehicle motion alarm would be more useful. Yay/nay?
Yeah, lots of rabbits and cats here. We even have the occasional coyote. So yeah....not such a good idea.Have any animals that walk under your truck?
might be an unwanted wake-up call at 3am
