got the headers on, and havent got the y-pipe (hope airram has it here by the weekend) but i just couldnt resist starting it.. it was in my 1 stall garage that it barely fits in, and the somebitch was LOUD holy ****! i wanna leave it like this :********: hopefully it will be almost as loud with the cutout open :naughty:
i didnt have any of the heat tubing on or anything so i just ran it for a few mins and shut it off.. i dont even have the o2 sensors in yet so i got a code obviously..
i'm having a hell of a time getting a torque wrench in there so i just guessed for now until i can find something smaller

thats it for now, just thought i'd let you guys know how its going.. i will post up a new thread in a week or so when i get it all done to show off my new modS!

btw.. is it bad for the truck to run open headers? seems like there would be no backpressure... i wanna drive it to work. lol
and, do i have to remove the front driveshaft to get the pacesetter y-pipe in? i just cut my old **** out so i didnt have to remove it..

You can drive it like that, other than the loudness and the code for not having cats, you will be fine. You do not need to remove the front driveshaft to install the y pipe. Make a vid of the open headers for us so we can hear it.

It's really fine to run with open headers? You dont have to worry about the cold air hitting your exhaust ducts? Seems I heard something of the opposite when I did my headers.

running open headers is fine. it wont hurt anything. and yeah i was in a 16 bay garage putting mine in and the guy on the other side of the shop literally fell over when i started mine with open headers lol. rev it up a bit and watch the flames shoot out :)

The flames are the down side of running them open.... as long as you dont mind the underside of the truck looking like a fire started under it go a head and run it like that, but I wouldn't. I started mine up in my garage at like 11pm in my neighborhood and it was loud enough that a few of my neighbors came out to find out what the hell I was doing... Didn't help that my friend was firing up his harley at the same time to see who's was louder :D
