Been reading Flowmaster sound good but do not enhance performance. No idea if this true.

Whats a a good choice that has the nice sound but does not rob performance?

...and why? I see many like Borla what makes it a performance enhancer not performance robber?

My last Ram I put a Flowmaster 50 Series where the stock muffler went, it sounded great. Everyone always said it had a nice growl but not too loud.

I heard a Borla on a vid and it did sound really deep. Like to hear more about what so great about them. Thanks.

Look into the Carven, it has gained traction among this site recently, it sounds crazy good!!!
I have a Magnaflow, no complaints, I like it alot. Magnaflow has always had good flow numbers, and is a quality product. Just ask Mario Andretti:roflsquared:

I have the flowmaster 50 hd and it's designed for the hemi. I feel no loss of power and can't say I gained any either. Your not going to gain any real performance with any of them. Just the sound.

Straight through design mufflers perform better than the chambered mufflers. But, if your not going to mod the truck and are just doing a muffler swap just get the sound you want.

Don't believe everything you read. I know quite a few Flow owners and they have had no loss of performance issues.

If you like the Flow sound, stick with it.

I too love the sound of the super 10. The only thing I like better is my exhaust with No muffler and No resonators.

I'm a creature of habit, if I have a recipe that works and I like, I tend to stick with it... Plus Magnaflow and Borla have to raspy of a tone for my taste... but thats my taste.... you may like it

I would advise to get whatever manufacture you think sounds good, power gain or loss on a muffler is going to be so minor.

If you know you like the flowmaster 50 hd. Just get it and put it on in less than a hour.

My preference is MBRP, however if you like the flowmaster 50 than MBRP would probably be too loud for what you want

I've heard was straight through mufflers you don't get the true sound until it breaks in do not know that's true.

I really like the FlowMaster 50 HD it sounded good but not much drone. Just a little curious when people talk about power loss with Flowmaster.

Tried emailing Borla but did not get a reply. Probably just order the Flowmaster 50 HD.

There is no loss with the fm 50. I really don't think there is a noticeable power increase with any exhaust on this truck. Your going to need a combination of things to gain any real power. It's all about the sound.

Local custom shop really pushes Magnaflow but when I asked what model he said its a Knock off Magnaflow built at the same Magnaflow factory. Hard to trust any one in southern Georgia. They treat customers like they are stupid and customers accept it. Peoples expectations down here certainly are lower.

Like to find out how the MF vs the FL 50 compare but doubt I will be able to. I remember my FM 50HD sounded good but if I can get something a little deeper I would.

The idea of a straight through muffler over chambered just interest me for some reason.

Starting to lean toward the MF 18" Oval
