New guy here, just picked up a 2018 Laramie with a Hemi last month. I’ve put a couple thousand miles on it now, and since day 1 it has had a low level vibration while cruising between 1000 - 1500 rpm’s. A bit of a drone as well. It smooths right out once the rpm’s increase, and does not really matter if it’s a low or high gear.

I am guessing it has something to do with the MDS but it’s only a guess. Have done a bit of googling but nothing definitive really stands out.

Is this typical or do I have an issue? Figured I’d give it some time to work itself out during break in but if anything it may be more noticeable now. Other than that I really like the truck, but I’m afraid it does bug the hell out of me.

First thing I would do is go drive it with the mds turned off and see if it still does it.
Manually put it in 8th gear and that will turn the mds off.

Does it have the gear controls on the right side of the steering wheel? If so, while cruising at that speed, shift it down a gear and see if it quits.

It is probably in MDS mode (economy mode).

It sounds funny until you get used to it.

I actually like the noise. It means I’m using less gas lol

That did it, thanks. I didn’t realize it could be disabled.
