This would make a great magna flow commercial.............so. my entire first floor was under 5 feet of salt water after sandy. For 4 days. One of those items was my still new in the box. Magnaflow. Stainless 14 inch. What are the odds of it still performing like it should. Will the packing dry out. Or am I. SOL. The out side looks fine. And the inside. Has some surface rust. I'm just trying to salvage what I can. We lost everything on our first floor. Were being forced to move by our land lord. I'm just trying to salvage what I can.

Is there any packing in a Magnaflow?

yes. glass packing.

Just let it dry out and your good to go. If its the stainless steel one you should be ok. Maybe give it a good rinse out then let it dry and your good. Then from there its no different than the moisture that the exhaust give out normally when the truck runs.

Magnaflow

A few years ago i was a distributor for Magnaflow. The packing material they use is not the normal. The packing they use is the very best available and they are the only ones using it. It was explained to me the packing comes from Italy and Maqgnaflow owns it. You will not have any problems, just install and enjoy....LWP

All Magnaflow mufflers are stainless, so you are good to go on the outside. If you think about it, the inside of the muffler gets wet daily with normal condensation that builds up in the exhaust...usually when cold. I would let it dry out and you should be good to go.

The problem is the salt. Salt will cause rust (even stainless isn't rust proof), like was said above rinse it out well. If you install it fairly soon, I wouldn't be overly worried about making sure it is dried out good, that will happen shortly after its installed.

I would soak in fresh water then let it dry out.
