It would be nice if someone made a piece that didn't require any custom bending just cut and weld

I believe you need need part no. 10778. Dual Inlet 2.5 in., 3 in. Single Outlet. Just verify with Matt before you order.

I don't think I have ever been so exited about a Y pipe before this thread but will definitely ask Matt as well! My cart for Moes site is up to $1800, thinking I might have to consolidate and plan carefully lol.

Yes it would, but cost would rise quite a bit I'm sure.

I'm not buying the +8 HP on this mod alone (on otherwise stock truck). Links to that thread (guess I can search. :) )? Yes -- I can see the differences in the pics. However, in the end, they are both flowing into a 3" pipe. It's kind of like a funnel: you can pour the oil in quicker, but it's not going to flow any quicker on the other end. Maybe .8 HP....

Thanks to the OP for the review. It's very interesting that the sound is quieter. I would have thought the opposite.

That was posted on another forum, by a guy who's heavily into the performance aspect of our trucks. They did a before and after on a 2004 Hemi.

It makes sense the exhaust note is quieter. You have two pipes entering the Mag Y into a generous chamber and out a 3" outlet. The exhaust through the new y-pipe is more free flowing. If you check out the pics of the stock Y, that's basically two pipes split in half and shoved into one.

Hey guys. I'm looking into getting a Y pipe for my '13 Hemi. I'm getting the
18" magnaflow muffler installed on Thursday and soon to come is the vararam intake and 87mm throttle body. I was told that the y pipe wouldn't make my exhaust louder, just give it a deeper tone. Do ya'll agree with that?

I just want to get as many opinions as possible before I buy it. I'd love it to be a deeper tone but I probably won't buy it if it's going to make my exhaust quieter.

Chuck,

It's more than likely going to smooth out the tone. You'll have a system that will flow better with the Y. My truck's exhaust was a little heavier at idle before the swap. I personally think the Y complements any exhaust upgrade.

great Sil, thanks for your input. I suppose i'm willing to sacrifice some of the growl if it provides a decent power increase.

My pleasure Chuck. :)

I don't think you'll lose as much sound as you think. Under mid to heavier throttle your truck will still sound very aggressive. Mine does for sure. I have a video somewhere on the forum, with windows up, and the exhaust still sounds great.

Definitely post some pics and vids of your setup!

Ok awesome I'll dig around and try to find it. My concern with sound is that my shop told me that the 14" magnaflow (which is what I wanted) won't fit on my 2013 Hemi 5.7L because of the size of the pipes, so I'm going to have to go for the 18". So I'm already worried that I won't have the growl I want but I'll see how it is with just the muffler and then make my decision.

I'm going to start a thread in the builds portion of the forum in a day or two so keep your eye out!

The bigger MAG may end up better for you. Especially when it comes to drone. Nothing worse than a droning exhaust. It gets old quick. I had my exhaust guy move the muffler so it's sitting just under the bed. This helps with drone.

Ok good to know. Mine stock actually sits just in front of the rear wheels so I think as far as placement goes I should be good on the drone. Then once i get the VR and an 87mm TB I think the truck should start sounding pretty nasty :biggun:
