Questions about Y pipe

Ok I'm buying a magnaflow exhaust for my 1500 and my question is the Y pipe says it should make the truck more responsive cause of less restriction. But people also say there exhaust gets quitter is this true. I would think it would get a little louder and more defined since the exhaust will flow better with the Y pipe. Any help is appreciated.

installing a better flowing Y-pipe will slightly increase exhaust flow from the heads, but as a side effect it will slightly tone down the exhaust. Worth the trade off to me...

you want it loud ? delete the muffler, or buy a 14" magnaflow and delete the resonators on the tails...

You want loud who needs a Y-Pipe. Drag prep that baby on the street. Nothing past the exhaust manifolds haha.
