what do other ram owners do for maintenance? and at what miles?

the book says oil and oil filter and rotate tires at 6000 miles.. the dealership and jiffy lube say on the sticker only 3000 miles.. do they say 3000 so they get more money??

Im pretty frustrated right now, i thought i could trust the mechanics at the dealership but after a few oil changes they came back and said they recommended about $700 in changing fluids or other maintenance. they said i had a nail in my tire and my rotors were scored and should be turned. they also said wiper blades needed replaced, power steering fluid needed replaced, brake fluid needed replaced. front differential and transfer case fluids.. i didn't do anything and said i would wait and on the way home i stopped at discount tire because they fix flats free... they didn't find a nail in any of my tires and said my rotors where fine. when i got home i looked at the brake fluid and other things under the hood i can and everything was fine and looked like new. the only thing the dealership was right about was my wiper blades are getting worn out a little. I have also had similar problems with jiffy lube saying i needed things when i didn't

could someone list all the maintenance i need to do on my truck and the best milage to do it at. this way i can keep track of it myself...

my truck is a 2008 dodge ram 1500 hemi 5.7. i have a bulldog tuner and run on premium 91 octane

I would follow the maintenance schedule from the book, also I'd make sure you have the most up to date version, you should be able to pull it up from rams owner page. I'd also be calling the dealership and talking to the GM to complain about gouging customers, notifying the BBB and contacting Chrysler customer service, go nuts, but have stuff to support it. Unfortunately about the only way to make sure you aren't being gouged is to do it yourself or search the world over for a good mechanic. The Ram owners site even has a place where you can input the maintenance you've done yourself and what mileage and everything, its pretty handy really.

Also, you should be in the 3rd gen forum not the 4th gen, hopefully a mod or admin can move it for you.

Follow the manual for your truck. Anything extra is just money in their pockets.
