Matte black paint?

Has anyone painted any of their body panels in a matte black?
I'm wanting to do my hood and grille cross hairs. Grille not a big deal, could probably get away with spray bomb, but hood not so much.

I currently have vinyl on my hood, but would like something more permanent. So Plastidip would be out. Powder coat could be an option I suppose.

I'm more just wondering about the side of up keep? What would need to be done to keep it from looking like ****? Wouldn't be able to wax it like a gloss paint...
