Alright everyone after buying my truck in March I have been on a exhaust hunt, gather as much information as possible listen to hundreds of exhaust videos and I pulled the trigger last week and ordered a mbrp perforated muffler part number un1211a. I know the muffler and pipe I used are aluminized but I live in Texas should last for a while, as soon as it rusts out I'll build another out of stainless if I still like it. I bought 3 lap band clamps, 1 peice of 3 in pipe and 2 peices of round rod to make the hangers, and I spent a grand total of $90 bucks that's another reason it won't bother me when it rusts out.
Now the muffler first start up very quiet didn't have the growl I wanted at start up but you could tell it had a exhaust. After a couple of revs I was impressed it sounded better than I had hoped. In the cabin it sounds really good under accleration and sounds great under WOT. Now the cruising speed withch iswhat had me worried with mds, When cruising not in mds it sounds stock extremely quiet when MDS kicks in you can hear it but it is very quiet.
Over all I'm very happy with my purtches and is very simple if it wasent for the exhaust hangers you really wouldn't even need to do any welding. I will add who ever decided to add the ball flanges for the exhaust tips I love you, it made it super easy to line up the exhaust tips. And because I know it will be asked I left the resonators it was a direct muffler swap.
