Meguiar's m21 synthetic sealant on head/tail lights

Can/should I use megs m21 sealant on the lights? If yes, should I clay them first?

What is on there now for protection? A good rule of thumb would be to clay it, then maybe an Isopropyl Alcohol Wipedown to remove any of the current protection. From there go ahead and seal them up.
