Or the top should have a hex in it for an Allen wrench install , to keep the piston shaft from turning , a bit cumbersome this way but they usually have an Allen hex in them then use an offset box end wrench or an open end wrench .

I have hand tool and I couldn't fit the wrench down into the lower bolt, I just paid the local tire store 40$ a strut to compress and swap

I torque the upper strut mount bolts to 22-23 forget exactly and the ball joint to 70, I found that on a few threads, I'm sure it's similar to 40-200* I decided to leave it at 2.5, for suspension ware and alignment... I should have gone 2.8 but what ever...

This is what i used for the rear shock upper bolts. You can use 13/16" or 21mm. Just let it spin against the frame, i used a long punch and hammer to tap it off once it was tightened.

I made the exact same tool, but my was ghetto, my sawzaw needs new brushes and a new blade, so i used the bench grinder and grinded through it. Once i got that tool in there, like was much easier, 13/16 is to tight, kept getting stuck, so went to the local hardware store and got a 21mm, much easier. Ill upload all pics here in the next day or 2, but everything seems to be going ok.

But i greased the Mevo's and grease is comming out around the top of the actual balljoint, not the boot. Cause for concern, worried about water getting in there and what not. Thinking of sealing the top off with some silicon.

What do you think? Little more lift would be nice, but its fine. She sits on 33's and prefect hight pretty much, 95% of my driving is on pavement so didnt need 6' lift with 37's. PLUS i have a 4.7 so anything over 33' really kills power

Make sure you get these as well, The factory ones are junk. I was shocked to see how damaged mine were after just 60K. then again I had those POS leveling kits...lol...

I got rid of the stock UCA, I heard the moog BJ will fit into the mevo' so

Btw, do the UCA effect the caster of the truck?

My alignment was way off after the swap. And today the Manifolds starting phucking ticking again. What junk...

Hopefully Amazon ships my JBA's soon, they are on B.O ... Im so tired of the factory crap...grrrrrrrrr Its like the warranty is over so the **** is starting to fall apart.

This is by far the cheapest built truck I have ever owned, I miss my Old Silveraydo 10 years trouble free.

If i have to get in there an take everything apart, ill swap it to 2.8.

I didnt/havent aligned it yet, as i was told im keeping the same height, and the UCA were not caster bolts, i wouldnt have to... Im not sure but going to let everything settle, once i get back from camping ill probably bring it in to a different shop to allign if it needs it

I installed the bills @ + 2.8 and the Mevotech UCA'S at the same time , I drove it for a week prior to the alignment , my truck was fine , I couldn't tell any differences before and after the bills & Mevotecs install and after even after the alignment . Lucky I guess

I would definitely get the alignment checked , and if you end up going to 2.8" get it checked again .
