MGU unit failure

I have a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn Lonestar and the mgu unit failed and the dealership tells me that they do not have any idea when the can get the part. My truck has been parked in the back lot at the dealership now for 42 days. They tell me that there are 3500 of theses parts on backorder. Any suggestions?

It’s nice to see @RamCares responding here but the OP made this thread almost nine months ago and hasn’t posted in it thread since. I suspect either their issue has been addressed by now or they got rid of the truck.

Sorry to hear about your MGU failure. I have a 2021 ram big horn 5.7 that just failed. I have 103k on the clock so no warrenty. I pulled my MGU off and sent it out to be rebuilt. The rebuild costs 850 and comes with a one year warrenty. I will post when I get the MGU back and re- installed next week. The bearings were shot on mine - loud grinding , winding noise.

Nice to hear that some are getting prompt service. Truth be told it would be greater still if all warranty issues were handled this expediently. Hopefully Stellantis will ramp up MGU production because this a ticking time bomb, and they know about it.

Little tidbit for you,you'll get better milege using your foot then you will with cruise control. The computor uses differant programing for the cruise side of things,and if you can drive anywhere decently,you'll pull down better milege with your foot.

Motor Generator Unit...See, I'm trying to learn these abbreviations that get posted . My favorite is still the BGE.
