Hello all-Dumb question- I'd like to get a slight lift on my 2020 1500 Big Horn without doing a body or suspension lift. Can I get a lift using shocks? I've heard Bilsteins can do this but have no idea what I'm looking at on their site. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

What do you think shocks are a part of?... suspension lol.

If its 4WD you can just get some bilstein shocks and set your height. This would be for the front though to get rid of the rake.

You can only lift a vehicle either by altering the suspension or by lifting the body off the frame.

The bilsteins will do that, only up front though. But thats a suspension lift.

Thanks. Is there a specific model of Bilstein I need? Their website isn’t real helpful.

They make 2 kinds of their standard 5100 series. You'll need to know if you have the off road package or not

Since when, I only see one option listed for either the Classic or 5th gen Ram 1500’s.... Post a link to where you found that info please.

I would recommend anybody in the market to purchase their parts from @Nick@GotExhaust to ensure you’re getting the right part, supporting our vendors on this forum and experiencing the exception customer service that you’ll receive from him.

Hi, feel free to message me. We would be happy to help guide you in finding the correct parts for your RAM!

You can use just a shock to lift the front only. The 5100's have a coil spring perch that will let you lift the front of the vehicle a small amount. This is mostly used to just get the leveled appearance from the added height of the front of the vehicle that you will gain. If you want to lift the rear as well then you would need different rear coils and it is recommended to get a taller rear shock. The big questions here are how much higher do you want to go, do you want better off road performance and what is your budget? I ask this mostly due to the fact that I have seen many go with 5100s which they are good and there is nothing wrong with them but then go with a better shock that will perform much better off road, like a coil over. I dont mind selling you parts but I rather see you spend your money once and be much more happy. If all you want is a leveled out look and stay on the road all the time the 5100's are all you need.

Eibach is coming out with a Pro Lift kit which includes all 4 coils and all 4 shocks. This kit is way better than the 5100's as it has a much smoother ride but it is a bit more money. Totally worth it in my opinion even if you never leave the pavement.

Oh, you were talking about shocks for the 4th gen body style vs the 5 gen body style.... that makes more sense now. Thanks for the explanation!!!
