Picked up a new 25 Ram 1500 yesterday. I noticed this morning that the passenger side exhaust is a bit higher than the driver side and the plastic around it is melted. Truck has 105 miles on it, and had 24 when I drove it off the lot yesterday afternoon. I called the dealership and spoke to the sales guy I bought it from and he was very cagey about it but would have the manager call me back. Anyone dealt with this before?

1) I be parked in front of the Big Plate Window at the Dealership talking to the Service Manager. That is a build defect and should be repaired by FCA, which includes relocating/proper alignment of that exhaust and they also gonna have to replace that entire lower right side plastic piece that melted, whateva that may consist of. The sales bum not gonna give (2) chits, he got U to buy the ride.
2) Check: yer engine description in your profile, if that is a 2024 Truck, it does not have a Hurricane Engine.

^^^ this
Ram started building the 2025 model year trucks early, I think it was back in May when they started rolling off the line.
If the truck does have the Hurricane engine it should be a '25

So your saying he might get lucky and have a hemi instead of a hamster in there ?
Well he said it was a '24 but put '25 Motor info, so something not kosher, LOL.

my bad - its a 2025 with the hurricane engine. I test drove like 5 trucks before I bought it and, in my rage about this melting bumper, forgot which engine I ended up with.

The hurricane's a beast though!

The service manager will fix it but I would immediately go by and report it and let him see it. If the same as the 23 models, the tips are a ball and socket type connection with a bolt for tightening them. They are easy to adjust but I would leave it to the dealer to do so.

If it’s a new truck simply take it back and they will fix it. Easy peasy!:)

Looks like a '25 to me, but the OP needs to clarify. Pic below from web site for 2025 Lonestar.

Here is his picture and it does not look like your picture at all. The 24s had that step piece the 25s at least mine does not have the step and comes out under a metal bumper.

wateva, OP came back and said a '25, the picture I posted from website of new trucks dealership, in the end, not matter, Dealership/FCA needs to do right and repair the damage and re-align the exhaust, easy peasy. Just not gonna get into a "wateva" over a post. OP just needs to get to Dealership and get repair and satisfaction.

If the exhaust system was in that condition when it was delivered to the customer, it is another example of a dealer service employee getting paid to do a pre-delivery inspection and certify the vehicle as correct before delivery - but didn’t do what they were paid to do.

Good luck - You’ll be very frustrated before this issue is resolved by the dealer.

Hopefully the OP has a good supply of "v-alium" or something else similar. IT took me (2) years fighting to get a Faulty E Fan replaced under Max Care Warranty.
(Ordered Feb 2022, Fight/denied/Finally approved and replaced Feb 2024)

Since 2005 starting with Chevrolet then Toyota now Ram I have always been treated fairly by the dealer where my wife and I have purchased vehicles. Even with the hiccup of the new 25 the service guy said they could not get into right away but told me the truck would be done that afternoon, if it was the problem with the update to the ECM. One would hope that the OP will have it taken care of. His problem is going to be they probably will have to order parts and a new exhaust piece, and most dealers have gotten so big they might want to keep it. Parts and shipping has been a major problem these last almost 4 years, and I would ask if there is a problem driving it like it is. The OP should have them saw the piece around the tailpipe so it is clear there and drive it till parts come in. Hopefully the OP will not be totally frustrated with the dealer and hopefully the dealer will not give him any excuse to be frustrated. Dealers do not sell cars with bad reputations if they do it is known quickly and sales numbers do not lie.
Just from my visit I received an email and text from the Service Manager asking me to keep his cell number and if I have any problems or questions I am to call him at once and talk to him. I thought this type of service is actually pretty decent!:) This is the first time I have received a text and email from the service manager for such a simple fix as a basic simple upgrade and reboot of an ECM. All dealers are not crooks it is the sales people that are shady! There have been dealers that I have felt nasty walking out of after talking with some sales idiot, I had to come home and shower!:) HA!!
Things will go smoothly and they will fix his vehicle.

Looking closely at the enlarged photo of the right exhaust outlet pipe and melted plastic, it looks as though the lower rim of the outlet has a slight “bruise” on it.

Perhaps the truck was backed into an object, pushing the exhaust pipe slightly forward and upward, or was damaged when loading or unloading it from the delivery truck carrier?

Definitely a 2025 with the hurricane. There’s sst badging on the hood, turbos under it, the window sticker says so and a VIN lookup confirms. It is the night edition - maybe that’s why the bumper looks different?

Dealer called back Saturday afternoon - I sent some photos and they said they’re covering it under warranty and should have a replacement piece Tuesday. We’ll see!

Super happy with the truck otherwise!
