My 2025 Laramie Night Edition, with 3,600 miles on the truck, has a 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo. I have had to top off both bottles, one for the engine and one for the turbos. Has anyone else had this problem? I have topped them off a total of three times so far. I think it is the thermostat housing, but no leaks in my driveway. Went to the dealer regarding the towing recall they have, and he is ordering the part. He said it will take a month and that he will then look for a leak.

And it all seemed like it started when covid came around
It definitely started when everything was shut down because of covid. You'd think things would be going back to "normal" by now. After all, the covid shut downs ended a few years ago but the effects of them are still being felt. I know the war in Ukraine definitely affects things too. We were looking at ordering a Mini Cooper a couple years ago but some of the wiring harnesses were being made in Ukraine and they didn't know when they'd be able to build the car we (the wife) wanted.

It has been a mess. Some of my long time customers who tend to live in a fog, became leery of me telling these truths. All of a sudden, a few of them were "Googling" or You-Tube confirming what I had truthfully told them, or calling around to other repair facilities.

As an afterthought after posting this: I lost more than a few customers; mostly due to their sudden shift to buying used parts on EBay or such, and then thinking I'd be stupid enough to.....
1) assume the liability for the job
2) Take it in the financial pants by letting them screw me out of my parts mark-up.... Uh, that IS my living, after all!

Needless to say, I told these truths to them. One job involved a VERY expensive combination switch (washer/wiper/headlight) on a Lexus. Dealer list on the part was just shy of $700.00.
He buys a used one on EBay, calls me up, and wants me to install it. I refused. He had is Quasi mechanic son install it, then calls me to brag that said cub scout mechanic kid did the job in 10 minutes, and really tried to rub it in my face. I sure do hope the car doesn't burn down.

Yes, I'm experiencing the slow coolant loss... Although over the past 9 months both reservoirs are on minimum. No leaks,. I just received my oil analysis back from Blackstone and there is no coolant in the oil, which is a relief. Truck has to go in for the TCM recall soon... I'll get the coolant loss issue addressed.

Well Sherman, that is how things need to
be done in today's world. A $700 switch
is BS, when it can simply be fixed much
easier.
If you don't like that, then too bad for you.

I am running into the same issue. Initially noticed the cooling fan kicking on in cool weather then a CEL code U02A9-00 (Lost communication with charge air cooler coolant pump). Dealer advised it was a 3-way coolant valve, but per the work order they replaced the auxiliary coolant pump. Took the vehicle on an extended trip (1,200 mi) and noticed the auxiliary (turbo) coolant reservoir was well below minimum upon arriving. Topped it off and monitored it for the return trip. Noticing a slow loss of coolant in the aux reservoir.

Did they resolve your issue? Did they confirm a thermostat housing issue? I'm hoping its not a turbo seal.

It's covered under warranty, right?

Dealer's gotta fix it.
