I'm planning on Retroshop do a retrofit on some quad headlights and I'm choosing the MLED 2.0 for the low beams. Would running the high beams as Daytime Running Lights be out of the question if installed?

Yeah I wouldn't advise that. The oem lights drop voltage to the halogen bulbs to keep it from being too bright. The mled will either illuminate or not illuminate. If it does, then everyone is going get blinded. Better off switching the drl to the turns or fogs.

Have them add a set of halos while since they're opening the Quads up. Then add the dedicated DRL circuits to the truck. I added the dedicated DRL circuits to my '15 when I changed headlights to Alpharex, the brow light works like the factory DRL.
You could put LEDs in the high beams, there are ones that work with being the DRL.

Now I understand what Mr. McFail was trying to explain to me.

Not much into the halos anymore. I'm trying to keep it as OEM as possible. Still the dedicated DRL circuits give me an idea though.

Read through this post:
All the information of what to look for and how to add the dedicated DRL circuits to your truck should be in there including where to buy the DRL wiring pigtails.
