as long as it meets or exceeds the msgs recommended specs shouldn't matter what brand preferred is probably because the two have some sort of deal

The thing is it doesn’t meet the spec. Which has been discussed many times in this forum. Considering all the oil threads it’s amazing how few people are informed.

Now I don’t care what oil anyone chooses to use; if you want to give FCA a freebie to void the warranty, it’s not my battle.

Then tell me why the Chrysler shop says it's ok and won't void warranty????I've seen a few threads...but the shop themselves said it's ok

If the zinc/phosphorus levels in the oil are lower OR even higher (which is what premium and race oils usually have) than what the vehicle's manufacturer's specs requires, the oil won't be recommended and is a reason/excuse why they can void a warranty. Viscosity is another reason.

Is E spec a thing...i was being an ass since someone had to correct an obvious auto correct mistake

Dude, I worked for Mobil Oil Corporation. Mobile is not a spell check error. Many people mis-spell it. Not that hard to spell a registered trademark for 50 years correctly, is it? Pennsoile how's that?

This Mobil 1 oil is interesting actually. I had a 2013 Challenger SRT8 with 6.4 no special pennzoil was needed/required. Got a 2016 Challenger SRT 6.4 now have to use special pennzoil. Used Mobil one in both and never had any issues. Why in 3 years time would they change the internals. The motor gained 15 hp due to electric power steering and programming. They FCA are not going to reinvent the wheel. Just my .02 cents.

Lol. How dare someone misspell the name of the mighty Mobil Oil Corporation. 50 years a registered trademark? In that case everyone on this planet should spell it correctly every time.

Who gives a **** how it’s spelled.
