Last year my dad bought new a 2011 3500 ST with the CTD, manual, and the Customer Convenience group (Sirius, carpeted floors, and a few other things).

However, it did not come with keyless entry. I was wondering if it is possible to add the module(?) for it, and then reflash the truck to have it work. Anybody got any ideas?

I would like to add the keys for my truck to his so I can drive either with my keys, but I don't want to have to carry a door key for his all the time, and this would solve that problem (We do have a hide-a-key on the truck if my FOB battery ever died).

there was a company that did the hide-a-way key, forgot who it was. but i think it's possible to get it done without a flash.

i'd get everything installed, and then try to find that company that does that, if no such success, go to a vw dealership and se if they will do it, just leave the actual key a blank, take it to a key smith and let him do his thing, then boom one off set of keys

I must not have been clear enough in what I want to do lol.

I have a 2011 1500 Outdoorsman with 2 rfid keys. My dad has a 2011 3500 ST with two rfid/keyed keys. You can program these trucks to accept up to 10 different keys. I would like to program my dad's truck to accept my two keys as well as the two keys that it came with. This only leaves me with the problem of unlocking the doors. Since the ST doesn't come stock with keyless entry, programming my keys to the truck doesn't mean they push-button unlock will magically work. I need to add some kind of hardware to the truck to make it receive the signal, I am assuming it is a module associated with the head unit.

I am asking if it is possible to add a factory module of some kind, get a re-flash, and have the stock keyless entry FOBs work (if you program them to the truck)?

Gatcha, there should be a separate module for the keyless entry. Check in the vendor section. I believe a vendor is a mopar wholesaler. Should be able to get one for cheaper than going through the dealer. I don't believe it's connected to the head unit. You will need to have the dealer to sync everything

So, I found this on another forum, might be a point of interest for some of the ST guys with no key-less entry. Key-less entry can be added to your truck with no extra hardware, only programming, if you get your hands on a key-fob. The following steps supposedly work:

As far as the truck is concerned you will need to take it to the dealer and have it programmed EXACTLY like this, in this order, if you don't, it won't work.

-add sales code GXM to vehicle options

-under diagnostic procedures with Wi-tech do a restore vehicle configuration

-the Wi-tech will then reset

-go into the WCM under misc. functions hit the reset WIN configuration

-clear all codes then program the new keys

I will not be able to try this until I get back to Montana in December since that is where my dad's pick-up is, but I will respond once I do lol.

The only other thing I am wondering about is that this other forum said to buy the following FOBsicle (5026376AG), which is just the lock/unlock/panic one. The ones I will be trying to program also have a remote start button, but one would think that they could be programmed anyway, and the remote start feature just won't work right?
