Morimoto xb tails

I don't think that the heads and tails are completely junk products, did they rush the heads before properly testing them, absolutely. But most people don't jump on forums to report how great a product is working, mainly to find an answer to why something isn't or how to resolve a issue then a good percentage never report back. I've replied to hundreds of comments from people who only join to ask a question about a problem and never get a answer if that actually fixed the problem. For whatever reason each truck responds differently to upgrades. Even if morimoto/TRS ends up loosing money on the headlights and tails they still sell projector retrofit item's.

I beg to disagree. People do come on to show how much they like products almost so much as they do to talk about problems on this forum.

It’s just the numbers aren’t on Morimotos side here. They released a troubled product from the beginning and from what most of us have seen they didn’t handle it well either with confusing communication at times and vague “fixes” at other times for people who paid a lot for some headlights.

I agree that they are handling it horribly. And yes a lot do praise their products. I have only had an issue with their hid's. I have a set of morimoto hid's that I'm going to test out once the weather warms up a little.

My point was that the average person jumps on a forum looking to fix a problem then leave compared to jumping on saying how great it is and never returning. So the problematic numbers out way the non

So they finally arrived ! 4 months later . I ordered Jan 29 and they came 4/28! Hooked up and they looked like this ... however once I started the truck to check the reverse lights , I found out the reverse lights didn’t work and the passenger side light stopped working as a tail light and reverse light ..drivers side functions as it should . Both turn signals work as well as brake light. Needless to say I’m a bit irritated but almost expected something to go wrong as the whole wait time was a hassle why wouldn’t the install be as well.....probably will be going thru a bunch. Of hassle to get this rectified . Sent retrofit source a Facebook message as they aren’t open on weekend I probably will have to fall Monday. Please reply with your experience if you have one regarding these. tails .

hey did you get the passenger side fixed? And how? Just got these in and my passenger side giving me problems. I’m guessing the same issues as you.

Mine does the same on a 16 Laramie with stock LED lights. I'm getting in relays today to splice into a extension harness I had made. I'll be posting results in the next few days.

Yup... Pre-ordered for a Thanksgiving sale they had... Got them only to find out that they added to their website later on that they are not compatible with factory LED trucks (challenge accepted) and they wanted $125 to restock. If I can't get them to work after this custom harness mod then I've got someone waiting to buy them off me who's got halogen truck. TRS can kick rocks for $125 restock fee

My truck never had factory led tails. I did use alfaobd to put led in the rear before getting the Morimotos. I disabled the light out warning detection with the phone app.
Truck is a 2018.

Hello. I am having an issue with the tail lights. Just ordered them got them in and installed. But the only thing that seems to be working is the break light and the turn signal. They don't come on other than that. Sometimes they randomly do but it's very hit or miss. Any advice or what I can do to fix it?

So I finally got my taillights working. I had to wire them up according to the 2500/3500 outfitting wiring diagram with a single pole single throw relay. Problem was that color codes were off on the fault circuit, reverse, and parking circuits. I had to individually find what circuit went with what color wire. It took forever with having to clear out the body control computer after every fault status. Last issue I have is the right reverse light being out which I still need to troubleshoot.

Ahh. Prolightz is in Gatineau, one of 2 Morimoto's distributors on their website in Canada. You may end up having to contact Morimoto Monday if nobody here has had a similar issue/fix before then.

the only thing that seems to be working is the break lights and turn signals. The running lights on the sides and inside the middle of the brake lights don't come on other than that. Sometimes they randomly do but it's very hit or miss. When reversing everything flickers and turns on/off. It’s very frustrating for me as I connected everything properly and triple checked.

Going to be returning my morimoto xb tails. Constant issues that remain unresolved ... sticking to my Origional I think they look better and are RELIAbLE!

This is super old but worth a shot recently just broke these taillights lol do you know what brand they are? I bought then used on here. Was looking at the ones the thread is about now no chance.
