I told them I didn't want the drone in the cab and they recommended leaving them. Very happy with the result.

Thanks. I might do 14". Need to do some more research though. Haven't decided on resonators or not if switching to a magnaflow.

Try it with and if it's not loud enough then go without.

I have a 14" magnaflow w/ resonators in place & in my opinion is WAY too quiet but I know it will be how I want it when I do headers. Sound is to the ear of the beholder though. What I consider way too quiet & zero drone someone might consider too loud & lots of drone.

Yea if your going for loud then what I did isn't the setup, if your going for good clean sound and it sounded like a Hemi should when you get on it then what I did meets all of those. At least for me!!

The 14" has a good clean tone and not loud at all either. Your BEST bet is to look on youtube for each muffler set up on a Ram and choose what you like the best

Done that for countless hours, haha. I like it clean and deep, not screamy. I think 14 will be alright for me. What's the next step louder in magnaflow mufflers?

In magnaflow the next loudest to 14" is a 6" long race muffler. I had Longtubes, catless y and a 6" Magnaflow dumped over the axle on my 04 Hemi Ram w/ a Comp 268 cam and that by far was the best sounding truck that I have had.

I was thinking about getting the 6" race muffler and getting a Y pipe and making a nice set up like the new Carven set up but settled for the 14".

The 6" muffler might be a lil loud & screamy for your taste though.

I was wondering if anyone out there has a idea on a good replacement muffler for tue stock one on my 2016 Ram 1500. Don't want to do a catback replacement since it already has duel exhaust. Just want a good sound and one not so loud that you can't hear the radio or carry on a conversation while driving. Thanks for any help.

My $. 02.
I have the boeschbuilt 18 kit. When MDS kicks in the cab noise is terrible, hit the gear +/- it goes away. 1500-1900 rpms the cab noise gets annoying. I have a Crew cab with 3.21 rear end. Sound good at start up and when you giving it gas.

Debating about going back to stock muffler and searching for a low mileage muffler. Longer trips I usually cruise at 1500 rpms and I have to leave the truck in 7th to kick up the rpms.

I have also read that the 22 magnaflow (12588) doesn't drone like the other sizes.

check one of the thousands of existing threads for advice haha

but for a "good mellow sound and a good quiet cab" its hard to beat the stock unit.

Ditto that comment. I tried the "quiet/no drone" Solo Performance Mach 44
direct fit muffler........they lie......took it off and went back to the stock muffler.
There really is no such thing as a performance muffler, they all just add noise. It takes a lot more than simply replacing a muffler to add any noticeable performance changes to your truck.

I have the Flowmaster 50 HD series and it had no drone. When I punch the skinny pedal you hear it. Beat sending muffler I have ever had on a Hemi.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing haha. Looking for the quietest muffler that is louder than stock and makes it sound a little bit louder ! I can't hear my engine with the RT tires I'm using now !

I had a magnaflow on my old ram and liked it much better than the flow master I put on my very first ram, I have a Gibson now(not sure what model, was on it when I bought it) and I love it, it's got a little drone in the cab but not to where you can't carry a conversation, went on a 2 hour drive with the old lady on Sunday and kept it around 65-70 and we didn't have to yell...I posted a video in another thread about Gibson exhaust deleted it from my phone though
