Mufflex 18 rusting already!!!!

I bought a 18" Mufflex bolt on back in the beginning of Jan. And installed it. After being under my truck for variour projects I noticed it has some surface rust on it and rust in the welds. How can this be when it is supposed to be stainless????? Anyone else have this issue? I'll post a pic when it gets light out.

Not all stainless are created equal

well i guess if that just changed my mind guess ill just get it a muffler welded in.

I checked and I bought if from Moe's. It is supposed to be 409 SS. I just emailed them to see what they will say. The remaining factory pipes aren't even rusting.

I just checked mine, got it from Moe's as well. Been on for almost a year here in MA, lots of salt. No rust on the pipe itself but the welds are rusty.

I thought mine was rusted pretty bad too and after cleaning it up it look more like it was cooked dirt. There was some small rust stain on it, but it's normal for 409SS from what I've read.

The welds are not stainless, probably.

Any bolt Borla options that are kind of like Mufflex where you can just swap out the muffler. I don’t want a cat back kit.

I know we had some customers buy one Borla muffler in particular. I will have to go back and search to see which one exactly it was again and see if it was a direct swap in
