I would suggest Borla Pro XS. It's most likely comparable to Magnaflow 18", but it doesn't drone. I had a 14" MF and it was a drone monster. Switched to Borla...great sound was still there, but drone was gone.

I’ve had magnaflow, carven, and other mufflers and borla pro xs has been the one I’ve kept. Love it

How loud is your Borla Pro XS? Looking at their website it looks like the only length they offer is 14”. Is the 14” length the one you had installed.

just got my mufflex 24 installed on my truck and sounds perfect. was stuck between the 18 and 24 glad i went 24 nice deep tone not to loud or to much drone. Also installed a vararam haven't really gotten on it to test any differences but sure looks good.
Now add the 5" tips for a nice deep, almost side-pipe sound.

I got it from moes and appears to be the 19”. Not aggressively loud but it is louder than the stock motor and does have a nice deep tone. Check out moes performance

Yours is a single in, dual out? Borla doesn’t offer a single in, single out in 19”.

Great choice!

After long tubes, high flow cats, magnaflow 14 then 22, I’m liking my 18’ hemi stock sport exhaust for my 80 mile rt drive to work lol

I would love to have a 24 for the weekend and stock Monday- Thursday because I do miss the sound

Vararam here as well, been on 2 trucks now and I love it. I’ve done a 18” maggy, 21” dynomax and a stocker and 21 or 23”’dynomax was my favorite. It was part of a catback with dual 2.5” tailpipes and the whole catback was only like $250 with a $100 rebate. Kit now is like $378 or something. I think the sweet spot is anything over 18” otherwise drone is an issue. You could always run a 14” and run a drone pipe sold by mufflex I think.

I never understood the TB upgrade.... when most people who do it don’t do headers and a ypipe. The TB ain’t going to let more air in if you can’t get it out and catbacks on these trucks are only worth like 5-10hp maybe.

If u wanted to stay NA then get a set of LT headers and ypipe and keep the stock catback as the exhaust is considerably louder after LTs and a free flowing ypipe. Most guys have to increase muffler size or go back to stock after a header/ypipe swap.

It's a straight thru design, but doesn't have any packing material like the MF. The Borla will sound pretty much the same from install. The MF will change slightly as the packing burns in.

I remeber seeing material inside my Borla Pro XS and this is from their website:

High-temperature continuous-filament fiber (CFF) acoustic material for sound control.

Here's a pic I found that I tooka few months ago

All the straight thru designs have that similar design, but the MF has additional fiber filler in it where as the Borla does not.

FWIW, the Borlas do have a million-mile warranty, so that spoke to me, too (sorry about the pun). I got my ProXS from another Ram owner here on RF and it had never been installed; paid way less than retail and a local welding shop put it under my Reb. I have no complaints...it's just about perfect for me!
