If you like loud, then the Muffler delete is the way to go. The 14" sounds great, but the delete is without a doubt going to be a louder setup.

I dont know how I ever dealt with a muffler delete. I had one of those and it was horrible. I would go with a 14" at minimum.

Hell, I have a magnaflow cat-back (22" muffler or whatever) and I am about to yank it off and throw on the stock exhaust. Maybe I am getting old.

I'd go with a 18", louder over stock at idle and much louder as rpmS increase. 14 would be too loud for the wife believe me... plus cabin noise will get on ur nerves Hella quick if u DD the truck.

Also remember if you ever decide to upgrade the headers and ypipe that it will make it even louder.

I can make my own muffler.delete for less than $40 and my 18" jones only cost me $70 with all the SS clamps. I like the 18" bc highway shes tolerable, my wife wouldn't be able to take it louder. I have a street strip firebird with a 521 and true dual 3" with 18" mufflers and that is LOUD! It's great because its not a DD.

If you want it done the same way it will be more than $60 installed. The mufflex kit is all stainless and I believe mandrel bent. If you go to a local muffler shop you are getting aluminized tubing that won't be mandrel bent so it won't flow as good until it rusts off in 2 years.

If u don't get the mufflex modded magnaflows your tips won't line up completely. Mufflex spreads the muffler exits out like another 1/2" or more to the OEM muffler exit spacing. This allows a true bolt on muffler and aligned tips easily. If you decide to go a custom muffler (what I did) u will need to fit it all together aND it will never be perfect. My tips are slightly off but its something that doesn't really bother me bc it only cost me $70 to do and I can revert back to stock, I also can swap in a shorter muffler and still be way under the cost of the mufflex muffler. At the cost of the mufflex I would spend abother $100 for a muffler back kit from jegs or summit for full 2.5" and pick up even more power to $ ratio. I also like to be different and do all the fab work myself.

I would also look at pypes and flowmaster at there bolt in mufflers. Depends on your sound taste mostly aS that changes the brand and therefore the cost.

I have the delete and I love it it's no where n ear as loud as I thought it would be..bit of a boom at start up but that's it. Hell I live in a cul-de-sac in a quite neighborhood and have gotten plenty of complements from the sound.

"Loud" is pretty subjective - I've had both the DODM80 and the DOD14M and liked both depending on when/where I was. I eventually settled on the 14" but that was more because I plan to put LT headers on later.

YouTube videos did not help me much - just buy one and try it. Either Mufflex kit resells well so you won't lose if you change your mind.

Here's a pic of the stock muffler, the 14" kit (mine is coated), and the DODM80 side by side:
