My 2001 Ram 1500 won't go into Park

My 2001 1500 Crew Cab won't go into park. Started all of a sudden, it tries, but just won't get to the park position. So right now, I have to leave it in neutral with brake on to turn it off, but I can't get the key out so it stays inside. I've seen a couple of videos on Youtube that show lubricating a pawl that is supposed to pull back out of the way when the key is on, but I can't figure out how to take the covers off of the column to check for that. Any help is appreciated.

Mine does the same, if Im correct its a shift linkage bushing or something like that, however mine still goes sort of into park. not a ridiculous hard fix but inconvenient enough for me to keep putting it off.
