A few weeks ago I almost rear ended a lady because a squirrel ran out in front of her and she decided it was best to come to a dead stop in the middle of the hwy. I was pretty much standing on the brakes but the truck just kept rolling like the brake booster went out. I ended up having to swerve out in the other lane to miss her. Thank God there was no on coming traffic. So i decided at 63,000 miles it was time for a brake change even though my pads had at least more than a 1/4" of pad left. I've seen where a few ppl on other forums were going with and having good luck with an ebay seller called Brakemotive. The auction i looked at were 4 drilled and slotted rotors and front and rear ceramic pads for 232 and some change shipped. So i went ahead and ordered them. Only took 3 days to get them.
I finally had time to install them. They weren't that bad like i had thought and It took about 2 hours to put everything on. The rear was a little stubborn because of the emergency brake pads but i finally got them to come off and the new ones on. I followed their brake in procedure. After i let them cool i took it out for a quick spin. Definitely a huge difference! I feel a whole lot better now that they are on!
